I loooove Vegas it's a fantastic place :D

The hotels are unbelieveable, really spectacular, of course The Belagio, Caesar's Palace and the Venetian are probably the ones people most like to visit, but The Stratosphere Tower is great, try going up at night, you get an amazing view of the Strip all lit up, plus it has some great rides at the top.

As EllenDeRossi says you should definitely try and visit The Grand Canyon, we went to the West Canyon which isn't as touristy, it has the Skywalk attraction now though http://www.grandcanyonskywalk.com/gallery.html which they were still building when we went. You can book a bus tour at your hotel, it's definitely worth the effort :)

As for gambling, well all the hotels are much the same, they're so big that it doesn't really matter that they're busy, there are always slots or tables free. We found the slots at the Stratosphere and Paris were pretty good at paying out, but of course most of the time you put it all back in anyway  We played Black Jack in most of them too, but again found that they were all about even. It just depends on your luck on the day I guess.

I'm sure you'll have a great time though :)

If you're staying for 3 weeks, why not check into flying on over to Burbank, California and trying to get tix for a TEDS show??? I'm sure you can get last minute tickets if you call the "day of ticket phone line".

No matter what you do, have a wonderful and safe trip!

Oh, just re-read your post...you are looking for NON toristy places...GRAND CANYON is a must see but depending on what time of year you're visiting it can be crowded.

leeann,

As far as flights...you'd need to check on the internet (Orbitz or airlines direct).

For TEDS Tickets, you can register on line for a particular date (once it becomes available) but that is pretty much a "lottery"...the tickets are free but unless they call you or email you back with guaranteed seats, then you don't get tickets.

The other option once you are in CA, you would call the DAY OF whatever date you would be able to make it over to the Burbank (Warner Bros) Studio.

Here's the link for the show site and the phone number for Day Of Request is 1/2 way down the page...good luck to you and your gf!

leeann,

I've been to Vegas, Atlantic City (East Coast) and Taho (Nevada/California)...to be honest with you, VEGAS has the BEST CASINO'S so you picked a great state to visit.

It would take you WEEKS to visit all the casino's in Las Vegas so you can't go wrong...plus they have awesome shows to see! Just search online and you'll see what I mean...
