If you want to see portia in all her glory, watch the movie "Women in Film"
I love this movie, it is a bit artsy and at first you may think it is weird, but you have to either pay close attention or watch it a few times to catch what the story line is, it is actually very deep. I love Portia in it, she is definetly playing the character.Plus we get to see what Ellen gets to see!! I have always really liked Portia, so i was really happy to see her and Ellen get together.

You may be able to rent it at a video store, if they still have it, I believe it came out around 2000. I actually bought mine at amazon.com.

There don't seem to be too terribly many on the board, but @ least the mudslinging (around the time of the hookup, it was fierce) has stopped. Everyone here now seems to show tolerance, which is wierd because Ellen's fan group seems to have a better dose than those on Portia's fans board. :-(

thats so true.. i think portia has more fans on this board then on her own board...

there is another movie with Portia in all her glory aswell called Sirens, plus she still has her aussie accent.....

Yes Sirens is good, but it was her first movie I believe. Women In Film is good because it has three actresses, portia being one, beverly d'angelo and marianne jean-babtiste being the others, but it is almost like documentary in that the actresses only act to the camera, no interaction with anyone else.
The Portia site is crazy, those people are so mean to portia. They are down right cruel to ellen. WHATEVER!!

its kinda weird that at first Portia was disliked at this board now everyone is ok with her and now Portia's fan board is absolutely bagging her and Ellen out ... too bad..... :(

I think that if you're a fan of anybody, you should want that person to be happy. No matter if you like the person he/she is dating or not...

Right, whatever makes them happy, as long as their performances can remain as they were (since they are entertainers). But fans, for a variety of reasons, tend to develop expectations of their idols & when said idol bucks those, it has been known to cause uproars. It's as though there's a level of protectiveness or "owning" that takes over...you can see that behaviour anywhere.

We talked about Portia too, at first there were only a few who did like El going out with her. But now I think all of us (at least more then before) think Portia is cool. They've been able to let the 'owning' part go. I hope that on the Portia fansite, people will soon see, that this isn't amusing to Portia or anybody else. I hope they find out that there are people on other fansites who talk about them in a kind of negative way. Maybe then the'll change the attitude and become REAL fans...

Very true! What I think is REALLY sad is they are judging someone they don't even know! How can you judge someone you've never met?? You can't judge someone based on what you hear or see through the media--half that garbage isn't even true. It's a shame really people are so judgemental. I guess there are just a lot of ignorant people in the world and always will be.
