Portia and Francesca had a very happy and loving relationship.They had a commitment ceremony a year back and they even talked about adopting.They were really in love with eachother.Portia was having a rough time finding new job after Ally and the press was always on their backs talking about Portia being a lesbian.That had an impact on her career during castings so her agent gave her an advice to be hush about who she is with that meant taking off her ring when she is promoting the show and avoid any photographs with Francesca at events.But in spite of all that they remained together still very much in love and Francesca was giving her support by staing in the background.Now here when it get's interesting.Mitch Hurwitz is the creator of A.D and the Ellen show so Ellen was hanging aroung Arrested development set and Mitch was asking her to help out to promote A.D on her show so she had that Banana stand and couple of actors over.They were filming long hours so Ellen started to hang out with Portia and they got to know eachother and started hanging out outside the studio.Ellen was still very much together with Alex declaring her the love of her life and Portia was off course with Francesca who had no idea.Ellen and Portia hooked up one night(just kissed not sleep together)and Ellen was starting to fall for Portia.Off course not one of them said anything to their girlfriends.Ellen wanted to break it off with Alex and told Portia but P didn't want to leave Francesca she still had strong feelings for her and wanted to end with Ellen.So the 2 broke it off and continued with their lives.Months in Ellen broke it off with Alex.Portia countinued her relationship with Francesca like nothing happend they had a Thankgiving day party with their friends and Portia was loving and you could see that she was still madly in love with Francesca and Francesca was with her as well.Few days in december Francesca found out from her close friend about rumours going around that Portia was unfaithful(about the incident months back when she and Ellen kissed).Francesca was in utter shock to find that out and confronted Portia.Portia started crying trying to explain that it was a crazy mistake and so on.Francesca was heartbroken she loved Portia deeply and she couldn't belive Portia would do that to her.Francesca broke it off that evening and moved back to her west hollywood apartment .Portia stayed in their house but it's going to be put on sale soon.Portia tried to get back with Francesca but the whole press was reporting her and Ellen as a couple it was too much for Francesca to handle and she said to Portia that she doesn't want to be with her anymore not after what she had done.Francesca is a serious monogamist very faithfull and loyal she doesn't approve cheating.So that was the end of them.
