series episode question

I watch 'Ellen' in the UK and they're only showing season 2 and 3, but they showed a clip advertising the programme and I was wondering if one of you can help me and tell me which season it is from.

It's where Ellen and Joe are in the book store and there are a bunch of lesbians in a group looking at some books, Joe asks Ellen "what do you call that many lesbians", and Ellen replies "4 Joe".

I pretty sure its not from season 2 or 3 because I have seen them all, but i dont know why they would show a clip from another season, anyway hopefully you guys can help.

I think it is from one of the two episodes that followed the Puppy Episode, and thinking about it probably the last episode of that series where Ellen's boss tells her he doesn't want her babysitting cos she's gay.

Thats from just after ellen came out, scrump. If im remembering right and my 'ellen' knowledge isnt letting me down, its from the very last ep of season4. "Moving On". Ellen is at the bookstore and Audrey has made a display of lesbian themed books. She gets all excited when the first person checks out the display lol. Then when more go over to it, joe makes that comment to ellen.

Fyi, just a little bit after that, the manager dude comes in and tells audrey to take down the display as it may cause offense and will attract the wrong kind of people to the shop, or whatever. So ellen stands up for audrey and ends up coming out to him.. only to leave her job at the bookstore shortly afterwards.

If its paramount you're watching the show on, they usually do go through all of the seasons, not just 2 and 3. They're pretty good at going all the way through from 1 to 5.

Exactly. It is season 4 ep 25. Called "Moving On." The last ep in season 4. Two eps after the Puppy apisodes.

Ooops Tarty, I posted my post at exactly the same time as you yours. I had to check the eps now as I was pretty sure but I KNOW that you are usually right when coughing up answers to ANY episode question. (really people, you can ask tarty anything about the Ellen sitcom and she will tell by heart what, where and when etc).
However, in this case it IS season 4 ep 25. And you were right on the title.

lol, yeah i dont know why i had originally put it was season5, noticed as soon as i had hit reply LOL. definitely last ep of season4. So, scrump, paramount are probably (im not sure as i dont have it where im at just now) nearing the end of season 3 so are showing a wee montage thing of clips from season4 for when it starts.

tartanfan, im watching it on abc1, a freeview channel, it started in september and they just keep repeating 2 and 3, so I haven't seen the other seasons, which really sucks. Its weird that they have shown a clip from another season, hopefully they'll show the other seasons, but i doubt it.

Ok, following on from the theme of the thread, I have a question.

As you know if you read the thread, I have only seen season 2 and 3 and I read, I think it was on the TV tome website, the episode guide and something about Ellens boss at the book store. I know Audreys parents bought it and everything, but what happens, do they still own it or does Ellen sell it to someone else.

I was also wondering, do we know what happens to Spence and Paige after the wedding ?

ellen sells it in season 4 so that she can afford to buy her own dream house. She sells it to two guys who have a few bookstores like hers, and then they get in a manager, ed. After that episode where audreys parents help out, they're not really ever mentioned again (in regards to the bookstore)

yep, after we find out about them at paige and detective matt's wedding, and the wedding doesnt happen, in the eps after it, paige and spence are a proper couple themselves.

hey, ive just noticed two adverts now including stuff from the 4th season... there is the one with the four lesbians, which you were talking about, and you know the ad where ellen and co are playing in the recording studio, well the bit where she is 'head banging' with the band, then she screams 'YEA!' at the end, thats from either 'Moving on' or 'Hello Mother hello Father' (or similar name, lol) from the begining...

are you talking about a clip from the opening sequence? (where el comes on and sings or dances with some band or another..) That sounds like it could be a wee clip from another season 4 ep, "Ellen, Unlplugged" where the gang all go on a trip to rock and roll fantasy camp as a birthday present for ellen.

hmmm, well Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah has the Beegees on the opening titles.. now that i think about it, does she have on a white tshirt and a dodgy black waistcoat? and scream "yeah" and hold out the "Ellen" sign to the camera?? That might just be from the other ep you mentioned (Moving On) as i think Joan Jett is the opener there. actually, yeah, im sure it is lol.

Hey not_your_average, that clip with the band in the recording studio has been showing for ages, since the beginning of abc1. But they only just started showing the one with the 4 lesbians.

I hope they show the other seasons, its nearly been 6 months that abc1's been running so maybe they'll start showing more.

lol no, i dont think so, i kept seeing one from season 3 then one from season 2 and all over the place....

They do show them in order, but they started by showing season 3 in the morning and evening and then season 2 in the afternoon. They switch them over.
