I have checked out other forums on the subject of Ellen...........and this is truly the best forum there is, in terms of the subject matter and the support that is shown for E & P. I hope that Ellen and/or her staff are aware of how well she and her show are respected on this site (if they are aware of it at all). If not, we should direct them to it! This should probably have been posted in the main forum, but I'm sure everyone gets around to reading all the forums eventually.

Regarding a gift for E & P to show our support, perhaps a thread could be set up to handle that topic alone, in order to gather the ideas of any who wish to participate. Everyone has their own ideas on the subject, and this would be the place to express them.

The Emmy's were awesome!! And thanks to all those who posted pictures and links to video and news articles. We all want to see and read all we can about E & P and wish them the best!!

Kaaaaaaaaaa!

I agree this is truely the best website/fansite for Ellen DeGeneres. I like it not only because of the true devotion and the kind words that a lot of people here have for her and her family...I also love this website because it is truely a safe place to be.

This is truely an awe-some place to be for many reasons: 1. we are all ellen fans 2. we all like to laugh/learn/dance/create 3. and this is the big one...this reason is the kicker, the big cheese, the reason why this website is truely awesome.....now come closer peeps....

We are all Humanafterall.

and if I'm wrong....I don't want to be right.
----------------------------------------------------------

but I'm totally getting a head of my self. Yes, peeps something we could do as a gift for Ellen.

I think that's a great idea. hmmmmm, but what to get someone who has everything. That's the question.

I think this is the best website too. I agree with both of you on what you like about it. I also like how well we all get along with each other. We can disagree on someone's opinion with out disrespecting or holding any grudges. We have a large range of ages here. I like the support we show each other on here too.
Yah we need a place for the E & P gift ideas.

I wrote a poem just now. A poem of Thanks. I sent it to TEDS. I hope she reads it....probabally not on the air though :-( You'll see.....
--------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for opening the door
Thank you for getting up
Thank you for taking the road less traveled
Thank you for teaching us to laugh
When all we wanted to cry or curl up and die
Thanks for opening the door

Thanks for opening up the door
For those who want to go through it
Thank you for being brave
I know you hate being called brave
You are just being yourself
Thanks for being yourself

Thanks for opening the door
Thanks for teaching us
Thanks for teaching US its o.k. to learn
Its o.k. to see, its o.k. to feel
Thanks for teaching US, that there really
Shouldn’t be a financial gain for someone else’s pain

Thanks for opening the door
Thanks for showing US that anyone can dance
Thanks for showing us that it isn’t so much the ability to dance,
It’s how you feel the music
It’s how you feel the music

Thank you for opening the door
Instead of waiting for someone else to do it
Thanks for not listening to the critics
Thank you for listening to your heart
Instead of the loud crickets in the dark
I know they can be annoyingly loud
Thanks for listening to your heart

Thank you for thanking us (your fans)
It means a lot to us
Thank you for being brave and loving with both arms open
As it should be
As it should be

Thank you for getting up
Thank you for opening the door

Love your poem, Kate B, and your comments on the site. This is the only chat/discussion forum I've ever joined but I did it b/c Ellen has a way of bring people together. I'm so grateful to her for that. I do hope she gets your poem--I'm sure she'll be pleased.

I went to the place on the TEDS site where you can recommend TV shows and web sites to Ellen, and urged her to look this one up. Did I read somewhere (in another forum here) that she may already read it? It would be nice to know she did. At the very least, we would cheer her up on bad days, though everything's coming up roses for her right now, it seems, and it couldn't happen to a better person.

I like the idea of a gift thread. I send her stuff for Christmas, birthday, Emmy's--have no idea whether she gets it--she's gotta be swamped--but I'd like to think she does. Thanks again, Kate B. I do come to this site when I need virtual companionship, and so I don't think I'm nuts for being such an Ellen fan!

Kate, you are an artist! What a beautiful poem. I hope Ellen gets to read it. There is so much talent on this site. We should be able to put something really awesome together for E & P.

 Doohhhh go on.....

Yeah I sent (emailed) that to her. Although I doubt she'll actually get to read it. I hope she'll read it. I hope so, but it'll probabally just go on the "I love you, Ellen" pile.

Ahhh well....that's o.k. :P

Hi,

some words from me...

I'm glad that "my" site is so favored :onfire:. I also "hope" that Ellen knows this site, so she can see that she's doing a good job :).

Okay, I'm not writing much but I nearly read all forum threads. So I can practice my english ;).

Ellen does have a "way" of bringing people together. It's really cool. I love that she tends to focus (at least with her comedy and her show) on what we all have in common instead of what we don't. I also "pointed out" this website to her on the TEDS website. It would be cool if she read all of the wonderful posts her fans have to say about/to her and her family.

I'm glad to know that you sent her TEDS something.

The one and only time that I actually "snail mailed" her something it was a three page letter to her mail staff. I kind of felt sorry for them, you know reading all this stuff for Elllen, people telling them how much they love Ellen and other stuff, and not really appreciating all the thankless things they do. Cause, really, TEDS wouldn't be TEDS that it is with out them. I thought well, I'm not rich enough to actually send her something nice (although there is a monkey bank with an unbrella at Old Navy...that may be funny to send...after all she has to have something to put her money in).

Back to my letter... I thanked the mail staff for opening my letter after the "mountain" of fan mail, and for that they deserved a cookie.... I enclosed band-aids for their papercuts. I said that for I told them a "story" of how it would be more economical for me to spend $25 on stamps, and shipping costs to mail myself and my wheelchair to the show, because plane ticket prices are rediculous . I told them how I thought that may go (from my perspective). I get hypothetically mailed to the mail room for Ellen's birthday in January. but when I arrived in the mail room I sit around for months and finally I sneeze. Someone hears my sneeze and lets me out. and I kiss the wall (because I can't kiss the ground) and run to the bathroom. and when I get back I notice the studio is dark. Everyone has gone home for the summer. I say "real bummer" then I walk home.

Short story, long, about a week or so after I felt my letter should have arrived at TEDS. Ellen has a segment at the front of her show where Sean Hayes mailed himself to Ellen. I know TEDS has like 7 writers and Ellen approves everything about the show and jokes, but I'd like to think that was my idea. It helps me sleep....actually, to think this.

I agree with all of you. This is the best site ever!! I stumbled on here by accident bec someone i used to know would visit here. I just got hooked and then i joined. The site is well maintained and you guys do a great job of finding information and posting pictures. I was also as a matter of fact thinking this morning about Ellen and how she does really bring people together and how i bet at some point in her life esp during the Anne break up..i think I read in Allure that she used to cry in a heap on the floor all the time...not the exact wording but something close. I bet then she never thought that she would have what she does now. A gorgeous girlfriend; who obviously adores the ground she walks on, a career that has been revived....several emmy awards. Among things i probably left out. Oh and adoring fans. She is an example of no matter what happens for the most part you can make it through and come out on the other side and have it turn out ok. I think about that a lot especially when I have my bad days.

As for a gift that is an awesome idea...my friend and I made her a 7ft quilt and we still dont know what happened to it. Her asst Craig claimed he was going to show it to her. Who knows...I talked to him once and he said it was in the "viewer art museum" who knows. But i will be reading the board so I will know whats going on....take care

xoxo

I agree. I joined another Ellen group, but they kicked me off because I forgot to post 8O ! They were kind enough to send me a "warning" e-mail about not posting, so I just kindly replied that I had joined another site :D .

I love this forum. Thanks ya'll!
