Sue Perkins

i've just come back from an amazingly surreal week at the edinburgh fringe. when i was there i went to see Sue Perkins (twice). the first time i was with my dad and sister. she said some great stuff about how hard it is to come out to your parents, which i hoped would help dad to see things from a different point of view. i couldn't get what she said out of my head and regeted the fact that i hadn't thanked her. two days later i went again, this time on my own, and after the show i just went right up to her and spoke to her. i told her that i'd seen the show before (and she thanked me for coming again :D ) and said thank you for saying all that stuff about coming out because my dad was there... she put her hand on my shoulder and said "it gets better afterwards"! i couldn't believe it. she's such a nice person, and i know this isn't at all ellen related, but she is just as much a hero to me as ellen is.

she is sooo funny doing standup on her own too diva, if you get the chance, you should try to see her.

she is, and ironically i was sat next to mel's nephew the first night. it was so funny cos the first thing said when she walked on stage was ' i bet 50% of you are thinking sh1t, i thought we'd booked tickets for the blonde one' :lol: and then halfway through, mel txt her nephew and interrupted sue, so sue started taking the rip out of him, and read the txt to everyone and only then realised that it was mel's nephew and the txt was from mel (if taht makes any sense) :lol:

wow ive liked her since i was in primary school and used to ask my mum to let me come home for dinners....it was to watch her show 'light lunch' (later to be late lunch when the times moved) with mel....just wow....i found it funny that she was apparently outed by then-girlfriend rhona cameron...(someone else i like) when rhona was on 'im a celebrity........get me out of here' (a dire show i watched cuz of rhona....) but me and my mum always thought sue was gay anyway, i think we both got gaydar.

I was so into Sue Perkins all them years ago with late lunch and light lunch. She was sorta the main celebrity I watched when I was getting to grips with sexuality myself. Over time I prefer mel now..

Did anyone in Sunny England /UK see her on the show about Victorian Eating habits ??? She ws getting pissed on the wine

I remember Sue and Mel from a few guest appearances in French & Saunders, they were Dawn's POSSE! Sue sounds like a great person.
