You think she is trying to fool her fans? And keeping them wondering? I notice it to. I love her birthday show like all the rest.

I was thinkin' that maybe she is getting bomdarded with offers (date me..be My girlfriend type of thing) that it got too much for her and so she put a ring on to get people off her trail?? Just a though. Who knows..poor thing..it has to be so hard being in the spot light all the time especially with personal stuff...I will love her no matter what..she makes me laugh..and I dont mean just a laugh..I mean a good belly laugh. She is the best!!:)

I agree..When I am down I watch her comercial and it makes me laugh every time, that whole clip thing of her on the mylifemycard.com makes me laugh. She is so quarky (spelling?) and fun. I wish more people were light hearted like her.

I think its none of our business..what she does or wears..is her own business..and if she is happy, which she is I am happy for her. Ellen is an angel send from God...and will always treat her and protect her as ONE..I LOVE HER......and if I had to die for her I would....

i noticed no ring as well, but i did not notice the date. i also noticed that she was making that cashier very mad when she dumped the change everywhere. as a cashier i know that is not a cool thing to do (for a customer to throw there money around) being funny or not, but i was dying laughing anyway.

Yeah the cashier was one pissed off woman!I dont blame her for that coz Ellen was being a bum.Just coz ur a celebrity doesnt mean everything and anything goes.As much as I do love her I cant agree with evrything she does.U dont agree with evrything yr best friend does do u?

well its nothing too great.For the last 2 shows Ellen is seen sporting a ring on her finger....the "engagment"finger.So everyone is wondering if its Portia or Alex.But for her bday show she isnt wearing one when she goes to the 99c shop.....so this is it.and what do u think about the issue?

Ok, after being together for a year and a half Ellen gave Alex a ring (wedding band) and she got one for herself as a symbol of their love. Last Month when the news of the breakup was out she took the ring off. On Tuesday's show she was wearing a ring on the same finger (some of us think it's the same ring she had with Alex) and seemed to be showing it off a bit. Now the debate is: does this mean Ellen and Alex are once again an item, and if so what's the deal? Did Portia and Ellen decide to get rings, and if so, why so soon? OR is she just wearing a ring for the heck of it, which she didn't before. Boy am I tired. :)

i have a theory about the 'magical ring" yall are refering too. In case ya didnt know every week on Thursday Ellen tapes two shows, one to be aired Friday and one for Monday. Thats why she didnt mention anything about Johnny CArson dieing over the weekend until Tuesdays show (taped on Monday) BARE WITH ME... Im getting to the theory part. So I/ve noticed when there is a segment where she goes out and about it is taped over the weekend then slapped into one of the shows being aired that week. THEORY TIME: Ellen was taping her show segment over the weekend (or Friday, she doesnt tape the show then) with no ring cause Portia didnt give it to her yet. Portia buys the ring while shopping and gives it to Ellen over the weekend, maybe after a romantic dinner, let your imagination take its course. Poof! We see the ring on Tuesdays show (taped on Monday). Tada

Well the theories come and go, mostly go without posting. But I like to see yall talk about her, some people are alittle werid but its understandable. I mostly come on for links to sites that have photos, like after the golden globes I knew someone would have some good pics or good links to pages you need an account to. I agree with Kav120, not that anyone cares but.... I have a theory also....Maybe the date of the screen was placed there intentionally to make the perception that it was indeed her Birthday. Most video recorders have the ability to put a date and time in manually. Ellen is always going to lengths to make people think that the shows are taped on the actual day they are aired, so maybe this was on there for illusion. Just an idea...

yeah, i was gonna write that. I beleive its called camera trickery in the business we call show. Ellen can pull out the smoke and mirrors from time to time, thee old date switchero, I have to tell ya, I wasnt expecting it myself either alas we are all masked by her illusion. Bravo! Did any of you ever stop to think that that segment of the show was pre-taped and that's why she isn't wearing the ring??? Her birthday show was Wednesday, right? And the ring showed up on Tuesday's show which was probably taped Monday but I would bet that the 99cent store segment was taped last Friday when they don't actually shoot an entire episode. Think, people, think! There's no way they can leave and tape a segment like that on a normal taping day.
