Hey there,

I wonder who's out there.. Anyway..

I'm Grace Eleora, call me Grace for short or anything. I'm from a small tiny red dot on the world map; Singapore, if you can't guess.

Well, I started watching Ellen's show a few days ago and I'm pretty interested in it. She's the first woman who can make me sit down and watch a talk show; which I never do. The shows showed in Singapore comes in weird timings, once in early morning 3AM or 3.30AM and another at 5PM. So, if I want to catch both I got to stay up!

Plus, I'm a few months behind time! The show dated back to March here! It's like the movie "Lakehouse"!

So now, it's 3AM over here and about half hour time, Ellen's show gonna come on air..

Hope to share more..

I stayed up till 330AM this morning and when Ellen's show came on... It was a repeat of that evening's show...

Gosh, I'm becoming a zombie this few days.. Sleeping at 4AM, waking up after noon!! Goodness it's my term break now!

I'm just curious to know, any asians here?

Hi Grace...

I'm from the same little island as you...I've to wake up at 7am to catch ellen 'live' on the webcam..haha..that's the next best alternative to catch her. I must say our TEDS coverage in S'pore not that bad...at least it's the Season 3. I have purchased a DVD recorder to record the TEDS as the timing is really weird...most of us are wither at work or at school...and I don't wish to wake up at 3am to watch the repeat.

Last but not least, welcome to the forum!

I have a friend in Singapore too...Rita.I have 2 look up her street again, but she works for the Exxon-Mobil franchise there. That's a beautiful, modern country you got there right off the very s.e. tip of the asian continent at Malaysia.I'm guessing the economies clash big time when you hit that causeway! 8O 8O 8O 8O

Yeah, sometimes I try to log on and the site will show "Invalid IP used"
then I'll try another day and sometimes I can log on. I guess it's server problem..

In times, I just cross my fingers, hoping that I can log on. I can log on better after midnight in Singapore.

From what I know, more and more people from this red dot is watching Ellen's show.. though we are like almost half a year behind time! I once had a great time telling a friend about Ellen's show..

It's pretty fortunate of us not getting any natural disasters, the only bad thing is lightning and other then that we are pretty safe from natural disasters :-)

Well, if you are broke, and have no money to spare, you can try youtube, they have clips of the sitcom. and some of her stand-up. Some fan actually post her "here and now" HBO special on youtube. i think it is all of it. in parts.

Well, you are a fan and am dying to watch, with money to spare, get her dvds on ebay. most of them are all international sellers. i got mine from a US dealer. it takes about (1-2 weeks, business days) i got her stand-up collection for about S$35, including shipping. You need paypal though, and at least a credit card. Note: surf aruond ebay to make sure you get the best deals and read carefully about the shipping rates. When in doubt, please ask the seller.

If you are serious about watching, i suggest you get season 1,2,3 together so you can save on shipping. that will amount to about S$170 max, i think. you can check on ebay.

hope that helps![/b]

10-20-2006, 10:19 PM
I'm actually taking my A-levsls this year. you?

i'm actually surprise and delighted that channel 5 is showing The Ellen Degeneres Show. I don't think Ellen is that well-known here in Singapore. Although i have read in some blocks that some young adults find her pretty hilarious.

At least mediacorp tries hard...

10-22-2006, 09:43 AM
OH man, I watched it twice in 3/4am in the morning! And the worse thing is I can't laugh out loud; the whole family is soundly asleep! Hey, if any Singapore fans manage to get hold of the sitcom; can I borrow?! Haha..

And is anyone of u dropping by kinokuniya; help me collect my books before someone take them away?? Haha

Usually, I will watch Ellen's show then followed by Oprah... NOW.. they removed Oprah's show and replaced it with Guiness World Records!! ARG!!! :(

genelee16
10-22-2006, 10:40 AM

have anyone of you watched ellen's movie:If the walls could talk 2?
Is it nice? I just ordered it online but not really sure how's the story like..
:-)

genelee16
10-23-2006, 12:16 AM
If these walls could talk 2 is a story about 3 lesbian coupls from different times, 1970s, 1980s and 2000. can't really remember the dates. In short, they are about the stories of lesbian couples, living, loving, loss...

erm, the third part has Ms degeneres in it. there's a sex scene in it. :)
