in the episode VOWS Ellen mentioned the name jerry fallwell. i never knew what she meant with this name, bu yesterday i saw this man for the first time on dutch tv and he gave me the chills. creepy guy. i don't know if this documentary had the same name as it had here, friends of god. it is okay if you believe in god but like ellen once said, unless i sit down with a person and hear it with my own ears, i don't believe what people say about what god thinks is good or bad. (or something like that).
i heard one man say in this documentary that god said homosexuality is bad. how does this man know? did god say this in person to this man? i am a not believer but i respect if people believe. the thing is that i want the same respect back.

You think he's creepy, so is Pat Robertson. I think he blamed Hurricane Katrina on Ellen because she was gay. I heard that anyway... I could be wrong...

How do you set a signature...?

Hey Mush -

Please don't confuse God with men like Jerry Farwell. It's like associating all black people in America with Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton...please....

Unfortunately, sometimes goofy people think they can get up and speak for others when actually they do a poor job and embarrass the very people they think they respresent.

God created you for a purpose. He loves you very much. You might want to try to get to know Him for yourself. You said you wouldn't believe something unless you heard it for yourself (or something like that). So just talk to God. Tell Him you want to know Him for yourself - without others opinions. In the end, it all comes down to your relationship with Him - not whether you went to church once a week, not that you lived a perfect life, or anything like that. He wants to communicate with you personally that is one reason He created you. Try it...you might like it...

i am sorry but i was raised a christian but because of things that happened in my life i became a non believer. i respect all people who do believe in god but it's not for me. sorry. i was taught that god is love but there are so many times that i don't see that. here in the netherlands we have the same kind of people like fallwell and robertson. they say the most awfull things about gays. like we are less than animals. because god said so. well i know the bible and i didn't read that at all.
that expression about i only believe what people say only when thay say it to me personal is not my expression but ellen's. from the moment i heard her say that it's my credo (do you use that word in the states?).
so, i tried god but it's not for me. i believe darwin and i believe in the goodness of people.

I am a straight Christian and these televangelists are nuts. Pat Robertson took back his comment about Ellen causin Katrina, but then said she'd cause a catastrophic earthquake imstead... wacko... and didn't Jerry Falwell get caught with a hooker? Well he did and "he had sinned..." guess were not all perfect, I mean I'm judging these freaks, which is wrong, so I laugh it off. Wack jobs.

acouple of days ago (and today as well) there was a newsitem in holland. 5 schools in a very christian town in holland want to have a special dictionary without words that relate to sex (the act), like homosexuality. don't they understand or won't they understand that homosexuality has nothing to do with sex? even the word viagra wasn't allowed in the dictionary. i think that's a whole lot of c... or is it just me?

That's crazy... aren't there other things to worry about? Keeping them away from it is just going to provoke them to WANT to know what is so bad about keeping it from them.

Did that make sense? LOL
