I was wondering if anyone knows anything about bikini waxing. What are the differences in the 'styles' of waxes? How often does it have to be done to keep it up? Are you supposed to let the hair grow out a certain amount before getting it done? Does anyone have any other advice about getting waxed?? I've personally never had one but I'm considering it.
Thank you!!

Well I'm no expert on bikini waxing, since I don't own a bikini, but the first thing that comes to mind is "water proof".

Caution: Stop reading now if any information could be too much information for you to handle!!!

I understand that there are different sorts of bikini waxes. Just the bikini line, everything except a little strip down the middle or a brazilian, which is everything!!!!!! I can only tell you about the brazilian wax, which is the whole kit and kaboodle! It is recommended that you trim the hair to about 1cm before getting it done, otherwise it will hurt more. As far as how often you need to get it done, with a brazilian, it is recommended that you have it done every four weeks. When it's being done there is a little discomfort, sort of like having lots of a bandaids removed. They do not do it in one big strip, that would be way to painful. They do it in little strips, well that is my experience anyways, which is just the once  Some people say it gets really itchy when the hair starts growing back, but so far I haven't noticed that, but I recommend rubbing on moisturiser, just in case... yeah, that probably sounds funny.

Not really a lot else I can say, except, don't let the thought of it hurting put you off, because really, it doesn't hurt that much.
Happy :)

I've never been " waxed " but they had to shave me for both of my C-sections. When that stuff grows back..... big time itch! I guess everyones experience is different. Personally I wouldn't want to do it. Especially if you have to let it grow back a bit before doing it again. Appearently Paris and Britney don't mind. :P

I don't think Ellen would ever do that. I think Leah Remini was talking about having it done before she had her baby. She said she thought it was a polite thing to do for the doctor, to be "clean" before she gave birth. I think Ellen made a face or said something like , why would you want to do that, or something. I tried to find it on youtube but it's not there.

Go do it. Talking about it doesn't make it better or less scary. Just try it out...what's the harm?

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I just wanted to know what to expect so as to be more comfortable.
Next time I'll refrain from asking about hair removal on this forum.

Yo April!

I'm curious to know whether you plucked up the courage to have it done yet and would you have it done again?

Six weeks on and not the slightest bit of itchiness. Maybe shaving is different to waxing, Photonut. :)
