Altered Opening

Did anyone noticed how the opening was altered -- and now we don’t see Alex anymore? hmmmmmm

I haven't been able to watch the show the past couple of days, spring semester started, if they did alter it, how much do you wanna bet it's because Portia wants Ellen to "erase" every bit of Alex she can (i.e pictures on the shows site, pictures on the american express site, the opening?)

I'm thinking maybe Alex doesn't want the show to use her image anymore..... understandable.

hey, i'm watching the show now and i noticed the opening is completely changed now. the blue and white squares and her in the white outfit wasn't shown at all. they did the "what's coming up on the show" part and then they had like gold squares and "ellen" in gold.

I havent seen todays show yet, I have to tape it. But I didnt notice anything different with the past few days. If it is, its really sad. I know the picture on her wall if her fav, but I hope that doesnt come down next. I hope it bugs the crap out of Portia every time she walks in her dressing room.

Okay, I come home from work everyday and watch TEDS right away... maybe I'm just out of it or tired from work, but what changes are you talking about? I have no clue :( :oops: Can someone explain to me what was on before and what is on now?

I did notice on the American Express ads online she took out Alexs' business card...

ok, if you remember during the first season the announcer guy would say who was going to be on the show and then the theme song would start and then the little skit with ellen in the white/cream colored outfit would start. its just the opening part, it was the same everyday. like white and blue and ellen's hair was being fixed by two women (alex) and then she would like fall and then the show would start. if you know what i'm talking about this is the opening part of the show. then the curtains would open and she would be doing some random thing. this was the first season. in this season she changed it up a bit and now she's usually talking to a guest before the show or doing something in her dressing room. this week she has changed it so you don't see the original opening scene anymore. the part with alex and her falling over. do you know?

Well, they used to show the entire opening sequence.... "Put all your cares away..." --- but yesterday they shortened it so we just saw the part where Ellen falls. Today, we saw nothing --- it was just the announcer telling who was going to be on that day. I guess there's no opening sequence anymore. :-(

Well, at least I have the old one on tape. LOL :-D

I think it is okay to change the beginning of the show to rid of Alex. Why not? She is no longer in Ellen's life. Besides, she got rid of her in her house, in her bed, got rid of her ring, her bracelet, photos taken by her from the main page on her website, her mention in AMex, so what's the difference?. Soon she 'll rid of all memories in the house by moving to another one and throw the nest Alex patiently made for her in the scrapheap. She did the same with Anne And who knows about all her previous gfs? it's called ' moving on'. And she sure is a fast mover. Ellen has grown up or so she thinks.

It's slightly different in this case. Ann cheated on her where now she is the cheater. The fact she some-what 'stalked' alex at the hotel she was staying when asked to leave. That really throws me off. :?

i am still thinking the old opening was way better. With the song "there's a big blue sky..." and all the faces ellen made.

Wow so I just went back and looked through the older tapes of Ellen I have and I can't believe I never noticed that was Alex cutting her hair. That is so cute! I can't believe they have a new opening to the show... it just isn't the same! I hope they don't put Portia in there somewhere, that would be miserable. I am losing all hope in Ellen and to see that Ho-bag in there would be a shame.

I just started watching the show again... after a brief boycott. But if they put Portia in the opening credits... I think I will NEVER watch again. I think that will be the dumbest thing ever if they did that. It would be so... disrespectful. LIke Ellen is advertising her girlfriends on her show.

It's funny... we still hear the full theme, but they cut the visuals to only Ellen falling. I don't like change! :(

And Ellen hasn't been dancing much! Did you notice the last few days she introdces a group of people that dance, but all Ellen does is stand there? DAMN! It doesn't feel the same anymore. :?

Yeah it is kinda depressing... I hope this change doesn't last long. She just doesn't seem herself lately.
