whenever i click on a link to an older post on here for a youtube ellen clip, a lot of the time it says that it was removed due to "terms of violation". how can an ellen clip violate anything? whats with these people that keep removing stuff?

I think because certain clips were posted with out permission of who has the rights to those shows. I thought it was ok for people to make those but I'm thinking that maybe it's not. Too bad for us. I thought they were just fun things to do. :(

exactly my point!!!!! i dont understand what it violates!!!! yea so what there are secenes when ellen is kissing a girl, but who cares? why is homosexuality considered a violation? theres nothing wrong with it, aand youtube doesn't have a right to just take off vidoes that involove homosexuality, because it isnt nice or fair!

I don't think it has anything to do with homosexuality. I think it's because the people that posted the clips don't own the rights to the shows they came from.

I think photo-nut is right, it's probably got less to do with content than with money. Especially now that the DVDs are out they've been taking down a lot of Ellen stuff on YouTube. I guess they'd rather have us buy the DVDs that watch it for free online... which is sad for us, of course...

That's it in a nutshell - it's all to do with who owns the copyright and their "right" to sell their product. It's big business alright!!! I would imagine that once the DVDs have been a big success, then the copyright agreement will be relaxed again. Lets hope anyway!!!!
