Since watching Designing Blind, I have tried to find out more about Alex, and of course came across the fansite that was made for her, Fan of Alex. It also has a forum, and I have tried to register, but my account is not getting validated and I can't reach the webmaster via email.

So, does anyone know what happened or what I can do?

I have the same problem! I've registered but nothing is happening.
Does anyone know what's up?

Do you happen to have a link to it?

I ran across that one using Google.

It looks like it is active in terms of registering.
The most recent person registered was registered Friday.

It does look like there have been no posts in the last two weeks.
I wonder if they are having problems.

The help information seems a bit generic, apparently the software used to create the board can be configured to not send an E-mail.
It sounds like from what you said, it is set to require activation.

Just to be clear, did you use the contact page form?

Contact Site Admin (http://www.fanofalex.com/QA.htm)

That seems to be the only contact point.

I was just looking around at some of the boards there and I find it hard to believe that there has been no activity in two weeks. It just does not sound like the sort of place that would be that silent without there being a system problem.

I both registered and used the contact form, but nothing happened. As far as registration goes, anyone can register, but you can't write until you're being validated, unless that was the status when I tried a few months ago. And the most recent members the memberlist shows look like spam. :(

Something is definitely wrong, the last posts were related to an attempt to increase her standing in an online poll.

The talk just does not sound like it would have stopped so suddenly.

I also noticed that the recent users had not posted at all.

Perhaps the person that was running the site lost interest or took ill.

Sorry I could not really be of help. :-(

But thanks for trying! :)

I had posted the question because I had hoped that the webmaster of that site was a member of this board also, but apparently not, or she's just not visiting this website anymore. Too bad, I like Alex a lot and would love to join some of the discussions on that website.

From what I read there, it sounded like a fun site.

If it is really gone, perhaps someone else will set-up a board dedicated to her.

Thanks Jlilest for trying to help. :) I figured something was going on with it because i looked at the guestbook and it's nothing but spam.
So hopefully someone will create another cause i too adore alex.

The fan site is still very active, in the sense that members can post messages. It's just no one has posted anything--which is not at all uncommon there.

I've been a member of that forum since the beginning. The forum kind of goes through a period of activeness, where people posts messages, and communicate with each other, and than the forum goes through a period of silence, where nobody post anything.

The silence part, is due to the fact that we don't hear anything about Alex, so we don't have much to talk about.

But, when Alex appears on TV, magazines, or at a party or something, than we have something to talk about. And it gets really fun at that point.

As far as the registration goes, I think you can still register, cause I've seen new members appear here and there.

That makes sense.

I did notice that the site administrator was having a lot of trouble battling spam bots, which may explain the guest book.

Thanks, maybe I should just give it another try and register again. :)

Thanks for posting this site. I miss seeing Alex. Some of those pictures in her Photo Album - Publicity shots are beautiful. She's such a classy lady, and kind of shy. UMMMM

You are right. There is not a great deal of activity on Alexandra's site unless she does something or is seen somewhere.
She is such a private person and dedicated to her photography, that she isn't in the limelight often.
Our site doesn't have the "chatter" that this site does. I've no idea where the Webmaster or The Girl have gone. They set up the site and kinda disappeared last spring.(2007)
When Alexandra has her next photographic exhibit the website will come alive again I'm sure.

From what I could tell looking around there, when it is active it looks like it is as much fun as here.:astonished:
