Hey everyone!
Isn't there a way to stick a DVD in your computer and get screencaps while watching it by pushing PrtSc (Print Screen)? Because I want to make some screencaps of some stuff, but I put a DVD in my laptop and it's playing on Windows Media Player, but when I push PrtSc it doesn't do anything! Isn't it supposed to save the image so you can then go in and print it or do whatever you want with it? Am I doing something wrong, or do I just not know what the heck I'm doing at all? Someone please tell me if I'm a complete dumby! Thanks!
Laugh!,
Nicole :-)

I think it depends on your DVD playing software and how it displays the video.
I think that as a rule you cannot use the screen print key. I use WinDVD and it has a capture function available by right clicking on the image.
Just to start out, what software are you using to play the DVD's?
Edit: I see my reading is not working well.
You are using the windows media player.
I don't appear to be able to play DVD's using that due to its being unhappy with the copy protection. It looks like wmv files behave differently and I am able to use the print screen key for it.
I have found a couple of links that may help:
Capture Pictures from DVD Movie Scenes in Windows Media Player (http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/11/capture-still-images-from-windows.html)
How to Capture Screenshots from Windows Media Player (http://www.quickonlinetips.com/archives/2005/03/capture-images-from-windows-media-player/)
Since I can't play DVD's using the windows media player, I can't test either of these methods.
The second one sounds like it might be the easiest to try.

Hi Nicole,
Well you can't make screencaps with PrtScn button from a video or Dvd, you can use Windows Movie Maker or Mv2Player, but I prefer MV2Player, it's a good video player, here is the link : CLICK (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Video/Video-Players/MVPlayer.shtml)

Ok, I've been trying both of these methods and neither one of them are working. The Windows Media Player I have doesn't even have a place to click on that says Tools and that MVP2 or whatever would not play anything when I downloaded it onto my computer. Is there another way to do this? Or do I not have the right version of WMP? Because I would love to make some screencaps from season four of TEDS because I have practically the whole season on DVD, but I can't seem to figure any of this out! Can anyone help me?

What I've always done is just press Print Screen, open paint and paste.
But like my mom's comp, when she does that, the pasted pic comes up all fucky.
