Threads

Can someone tell me what threads are? I'm computer illiterate & trying to get into this website but having a hard time understanding what's going on here. Thanks in advance

Threads are a list of messages tied to a subject.

If you go to the main page http://www.ellen-degeneres.com/

There is a section that lists topics, poster, views, replies, last posters.

If you click on a topic, it will take you to the last message in that thread.

You could think of a thread as a tablet with a subject written on the cover.
Each poster writes their message on the next available page in the tablet.

The threads are displayed with a specific number of messages per web page.
You can go to a specific page if it is shown at the top or bottom of the page (there is limited space, so only a limited number of the total pages will be available) or you can click on next or previous to move one page at a time.
Next goes to the following web page of messages and previous goes to the prior web page of messages.
