Well, she is entitles to not like Portia...we all have our own opinions. Danielle has given me her opinions on Portia before...it's not that she doesn't like her, it's just that she is an Ellen fan strictly! She doesn't dislike Portia, but she could take her or leave her. Personally, I love Portia, but I love Danielle too! She's helped me out a lot in the past year or so...but like I said, we are all entitled to our own opinions!

Of course, all of us on here ask the question, "How could you not like Portia?" because we love her so much, but hey, whatever floats your boat!...

I love Portia to death though...I think she's beautiful and she seems very sweet, funny an down-to-earth!

I agree. Your title was very clear. The first time or two I watched AD, I thought it was too off the wall, but I kept watching and it became my favorite show. It was one of the funniest shows on TV. The dvd's are great I have all three. As many times as I've seen those episodes, I still find clever things I missed!Good luck selling them. They should go quickly!!

Try HMV, Virgin, Play.com Amazon, Tesco, Asda...in fact anywhere that sells dvds. They are all released on region 2..season 3 came out in April. I have them in region 1 but that's only because I couldnt wait hehe

*signed petition*. Well when AD finished they insinuated (in the last ep.) that they would make a movie if it were 2 ever come bk and I just took that as a joke. However whenever I have seen the cast talk about the possibility of reserecting AD then they always mention the movie idea first + that it is all down Mitch Hurwitz (obviously, but of course they need some sort of backing) but I think xmas ep. idea was just a fan thing. But I don't care as long as i get some sort of fresh AD fix. :)

It's been floating around that there would be an AD movie if Mitch and the cast want to do it. I think it was Jason Bateman that said something like that. Hopefully there will be a movie just to properly sign it off if nothing more comes of it. Ahhh, I still wish it wasn't cancelled. :(

Only Portia, Will Arnett, and Alia Shawkat are left to confirm there presence in the movie, although I find it hard to believe that Portia wouldn’t be on it. She seems to Love the show and the cast so much that I can only thing of schedule conflict as a reason for her not to be on board.

I think someone needs to do their homework before trying to be witty. I believe Portia did more then sit on Ellen’ green room, she did nip/tuck, a movie and is filming a new show, that doesn’t seem like someone that’s waiting for work to fall on her lap.

Although I wish that someone asker if she going to do the movie, her character and the interaction between the Bluth women are the funniest on the show, And I love Buster.

Maybe Ellen could ask her when she’s on the show.

I Love the show, still waiting for season 3 DVD to arrive, so haven’t see that one and can anyone tell me if Lindsay have a good story line in the last season, or is like the last part of season 2 – she was hardly there, I actually was wondering during the season final if she was even be there at all!!
I think I said this before Lindsay, Lucille and Buster are my favourites.
And on a different note I can’t see all the buzz surrounding Michael Cera, George-Michael is on the end list of my favourites, if the guy doesn’t want to make the movie, don’t!, make some kind of joke to explain it and do the movie!
In fact my list would go something like this:

1- Lindsay
2- Lucille (Love Jessica Walters, she’s so funny and she and Portia seem to care a lot for each other – on the audio commentaries Jessica always had a nice word for Portia)

I Love the show, still waiting for season 3 DVD to arrive, so haven’t see that one and can anyone tell me if Lindsay have a good story line in the last season, or is like the last part of season 2 – she was hardly there, I actually was wondering during the season final if she was even be there at all!!

She's used a little more than in the second half of season two ... a couple of fun storylines and she has a pretty large part in the series finale, which is possibly the best episode ever.

Oh, and she's never looked better either. :D

I'm glad i'm not the only one. lol. I love Amy Poehlar - she's funny! I wanted to watch 30 Rock too but it was on at a really late time like 11.30pm or something and even an episode was on NYE. Still, no one knows yet whether a certain beloved Bluth will be there: Superbad star Michael Cera.

I think the only reason Portia wouldn't have done it was if it clashed with filming something else, even then I'm sure she would try to find a way around it. She's always said how much she loved working on the show and with the cast, so I'm sure she's happy it's going to happen.

Hopefully Michael Cera will decide to do it, but if he doesn't, I'm sure Mitch Hurwitz will find a way round it, he's such a brilliant writer. I can't wait to see it :D

Rumors of an “Arrested Development” movie have been swirling for months; Everyone from Will Arnett to Jason Bateman has displayed interest in reprising their parts. The show’s creator, Mitchell Hurwitz, dropped hints last week that a movie was on.
Only Michael Cera, George Michael, recently said that he wanted to see the script before committing. Cera, star of movies such as “Juno” and “Superbad,” finds himself in the peculiar position of having to shake off the effects of stereotyping without displeasing the show’s unusually vocal fans.
“Arrested Development” fans feel a strong sense of ownership when it comes to the Bluth family; They have hijacked the show’s comedic style and cult status to assert their own intellectual identity. They want a mainstream movie out of this — perhaps to validate their good taste — while claiming that the show’s low ratings were a sign that it was too classy for most audiences.
This declaration sidesteps the curious fact that the show was willing to indulge in supposedly low-brow slapstick. In truth, “Arrested Development” tried a little bit of everything: goofy lines, risque lines, awkward pauses, non-sequiturs, inside jokes, obvious jokes, jokes that make you laugh out loud, jokes that make you smile inwardly, verbal puns, visual puns — and then each of these styles layered on some of the others.
Take, for instance, Tobias Funke and his obsession with the Blue Man Group, a minor narrative arc that extends mainly over the course of season two. At different points, whether or not Tobias is in the frame, his (blue) palm prints can be spotted all over the house and, a couple of times, even on his brother-in-law Michael’s shirt. On one level, this is funny because of the visual gag. On another level, it is funny in a surreal way to be confronted by a character who for no particular reason is obsessed with men covered in a coat of blue paint. On a third level, the joke is a pun on the fact that the Bluth family is engaged in the business of building model homes. (The link: blueprints.)
The main reason for the show’s failure was not narrative complexity. It was that viewers were overwhelmed by the different kinds of jokes flying toward them, seemingly without pattern. Self-indulgence in a sitcom works effectively until the audience begins to lose the thread.
Although the show created an arc of intimacy between the Bluth family and the viewer, the characters were extraordinarily unsympathetic. “Arrested Development” went about its business without seeming to care if jokes on themes such as incest — controversial under any circumstances ­— might alienate viewers.
Hurwitz is under pressure from the fan base to deliver a script abound with arbitrary jokes. He will want to persist with this degree of cleverness for artistic reasons. And with any luck, it would pay off with movie audiences, since cinema holds greater pretensions to art than television.
The presence of familiar faces like Cera and Portia de Rossi cannot hurt a complex film’s box-office chances. And given the show’s politics — the plot centered on the situation in Iraq and weapons of mass destruction — the movie script might address the current financial crisis.
An “Arrested Development” movie will follow in the tradition of TV shows like “Sex and the City,” “The Simpsons” and “Miami Vice,” which all made the transition to big-budget cinema, but unlike those films, “Arrested Development” will probably evoke the feel of an indie production.
Then again, with Ron Howard presumably having a hand, you never know.
It is conceivable that an “Arrested Development” film might go on to influence the course of comedy in mainstream cinema. Then again, it might not. It’s “Arrested Development.”

So I was talking to my friend today and she said she was watching a TV show the other night(The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos...its a Canadian show:p) and Martin Short was being interviewed. Sure, now that his animated FOX show is canceled, the show's creator is probably moving forward with the script, but shooting by the end of 2009 -- which was the original plan -- seems a little far fetched at this point. We do suppose anything's possible, but just don't bank on it. [Details]

Jason Bateman was interviewed by Rove tonight with Vince Vaughen for their movie Couples retreat and he said that the Arrested Development IS happening and someone else is going to play jobe (Sp?).

Sometimes things fall through and even though he and the others expect it to happen, doesn't mean that it will ultimately happen.

There are a lot of schedules to work around.

Still, the fact that it is being worked on and the cast and producers/writers want it to happen, is a very good sign that it will happen. :D

I have read in a few articles Jason said he was on board. The only hold up was Micheal Cera. I also read he said YES!!! KEWL

Sidenote.. I can't find the article, but I could have sworn I read where Jason and Wil were doing the voices for a new animated comedy some of the AD writers came up with. Anyone else read that or hear about it?:o I could have been dreaming ! LOL

Nope you were not dreaming i heard something about it too. I had to do a lil research, the animated comedy name is Sit Down, Shut Up with will and Jason and very funny cast. Apparently the show was canceled due to negative comments and poor ratings, with only the fourth episode aired, but it's back again fox is giving it another shot. Go figure it's on fox, fox don't seem to promote there shows well including abc where BOT is concern.

The Channel IFC, which I dont know what it is, will be starting to show all the episodes of Arrested Development starting soon. I think you have to have a dish to have it, but maybe not. Good news. Just wanted to share!:thumbup:

Didn't really know where to post this... it's probably just information that's interesting for those that have Ally and AD on DVD...
In the bar of Ally McBeal I noticed a poster on the wall, it said something about Munich (where I live, thats why I remember :P). It said something like: München Theater Variete... are you with me?
Then I just watched an episode of Arrested Development (I think it was Season 1 Episode 3).
It's the scene where Gob and Michael talk about a dead dove Gob put in the fridge. Behind Michael you can see.... guess what: a poster that says München Theater Variete!!! :D
I wonder if Portia's got something to so with that... thief! ;)

Arrested Development' Movie Back On for 2010

The much-anticipated Arrested Development movie is back on and shooting is scheduled to begin in 2010, star Will Arnett has confirmed.

A movie version of the cult TV sitcom has been mooted since the show was canceled back in 2006.

Plans were rumored to have been scrapped last year, after creator Mitch Hurwitz embarked on a series of new projects, and because of stars Jason Bateman and Michael Cera's busy movie schedules.

But Cera last week confirmed he's onboard, and Arnett has revealed that a script is close to completion and all the cast is booked up to shoot the film this year.

The funnyman, who plays failed magician Gob Bluth, says, "We are working on the movie right now. Wow that's great news :D I know Portia and the other cast members have said that there will be a movie sometime, but that actually sounds pretty concrete from WA about it being filmed later this year, plus I'm glad Michael Cera has confirmed his involvement, because it wouldn't have been the same without him :)

I wish they'd do it now, I can't wait LOL!

hey guys!
i'm watching the second season of ad right now. does anybody know what the song is called in the 16th episode of season 2, when anne says: 'i think your dad just gave us permission to do it'. it's almost at the end. i'd be very thankful! :)
btw, if someone doesnt know how to watch arrested development, just pm me! :)
