Hi! My name is Joe Cameron and I was told by one of the big users of this site (CoCo) that someone has found my website and video and posted it up on this forum.

I am trying to get on TEDS and we made a very fun and amusing website and video to help get this done.

I'm the one that originally posted about your site/video/etc. Great job! I sent in an email, too, and really hope you get on the show. Like I said in my first post, I'm not a huge pop-rock fan, but I can't get your song out of my head.

For you, not getting on initially made it a much bigger deal than if you had been shown the first time.

This reminds me of that documentary "My Date with Drew." I think that is what it is called. If anybody hasnt seen it, it was this guy wo is a huge fan of Drew Barrymore and he went through all of these things to try and meet her and it turned out really cool in the end. Here's the issue...they want folks to submit a video for the "It's Up To Y'all" segment. I don't have any time right now to make a video and the problem with the TEDS website is that they are now probably getting thousands of videos from people who want to be on the show. These videos are likely funny, or creative, or actually feature people who have some talent they want Ellen to showcase (take Joe, for example). Well, I'm not an actress, comedienne, musician, or juggler. I have no "special talent" that could possibly attract the attention of the TEDS producers and entice them to allow me to come to the show and present this to Ellen. I can make a short little video using my Flip video camera but there won't be any naked pole dancing gorillas or special effects or fancy editing to make me stand out. Now, if any of YOU out there have a camera and some skills, you can submit a video and in that video you can suggest someone (like say, me) be on the show. You can be as silly as shizitz or make a funky ass video and recommend someone else for the show.

Anyone have any ideas??? I mean, I'm willing to make a short little video and send it in, but it's not going to knock anyone socks off.

No no no! I'm so sorry guys. I got on quickly yesterday and posted a few quick things and I haven't had the chance to sit down until literally just now. I wasn't trying to keep any secrets. I didn't want to say anything before it aired because I wanted to keep things a surprise (especially to my family and friends). But really...no snubbing here.

Here it goes:

It was the most AMAZING day EVER! First off, the staff are the most incredible group of people assembled. You can tell that the LOVE working for the best possible boss in the entire world! They are so happy and fun and accommodating. Once you arrive in the LA area, Ellen treats her guests so well...from the moment you get picked up in the airport, to your hotel, and especially when you're backstage during your taping day. The dressing rooms are INCREDIBLE....so nice and packed with candy, snacks, any drink you could want and a gift bag waiting for you when you arrive with a coffee mug, t-shirt, and Ellen's famous underwear! My mom got a gift bag too!

Once it was time to rehearse they ushered me to the stage and I had to play a few songs on the guitar and one on the piano...up until that point they still didn't know what song they wanted me to sing. The crew is so quick and professional and any of you who have been in the audience for a taping knows how cool and energetic they are. :D

Then I went to hair and makeup RIGHT as the show started. Once I got finished with that they walked me to the stage and told me what song I would sing and that's when those pics of my standing backstage were taken. I was so frazzled and anxious about walking on that stage that I didn't think to look up at the camera...in fact...I forgot about those cameras all together. haha!

Once I walked on the stage and saw her waiting for me it was like time stood still and I was no longer living the situation...but rather I was somewhere else watching it happen. It was the wierdest feeling in the world. Once I sat down and she started talking my brain just shut down because I don't remember anything after...I had to watch it yesterday like everyone else in order to remember what happened...and make sure I didn't say anything dumb. :D The part of my interview that aired had a few questions cut out so you didn't get to see me talk about everything...especially the voting.

Those of you who talked about her blue eyes being mezmorizing were EXACTLY right. They are literally the BLUEST, most piercing eyes I have ever seen in my life.

Then after the segment when she went to commercial I just sat there and chatted with Ellen for another minute and thanked her for the opportunity and told her that I would never, ever forget her and her kindness. I gave her a another hug and then let her move on to her next segment.

Then they took me back to my room, I watched the rest of the show from my dressing room, packed up, and right when the show ended the car took us to the airport to fly home.

I'm still riding the high from it and the absolute best part of the whole trip (besides sitting next to Ellen) was that I got to take my mom with me!

Sorry again for those of you who thought I was ignoring you. I'm from Kokomo and all day Wednesday most of the day yesterday I was in Indianapolis doing TV news and radio stuff there (for those in Indiana you saw it on the 5pm news last night) and I wasn't at my computer for a lot of that time (which was killing me!). I haven't made a post yet where I didn't thank ALL of you for all of your help and I'm doing that again now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I couldn't have done this without your help! :D

I only got to talk to her on the stage. They taped two shows that day so they were super busy...especially Ellen. But it was OK. I wouldn't change a thing about it!

And yeah, we had to leave right after the show. That's when they scheduled my return flight. :o

Thanks for sharing your story Joe! You seemed so comfortable, I dont know if I would have been able to talk once she started asking me questions. I would just be staring at her in awe and then they would have to cut my whole segment out. I cant believe your guiatar broke at the airport. Very nice of them to give you the new one. Anyway, congrats to you. I am glad everything worked out. Hopefully Lisa will be on next month presenting Ellen with our Birthday present!! How fantastic would that be?
