no more ellen in the uk!!!

for those living in the uk, abc1 has stopped airing over here as of today, this means that there is going to be no more ellen (the series) showing on tv. I do have all the series on dvd but i am still really disapointed that i will not be able to watch it each evening!!:mad::mad:

At the moment you can still get TEDS (repeats) on Five life about 11 p.m. daily, not weekends. don't know how long that will go on for.

Perhaps we should bombard her with e-mails regarding this... I don't know. A lot of us on here have got onto Five Life, but they don't have the rights for Season 5.

abc1 as a channel is stopping in the UK ??? You mean on Freeview???

or Ellen the sitcom is stopping and the channel is carrying on.

I heard a rumour of this a few weeks back and emailed abc1 about it. They told me that the channel itself will not be cancelled in the UK.

This message appeared on the abc1 website so the channel will not be airing again in the uk.

Crikey - we are loosing ellen in the UK....not good news.

Ive found the email abc1 replied to me at the start of September...they assured me that abc1 is not going off the air in the UK and it was a rumour....they lied !!!!

What are we going to do without our ellen fixes ???:confused:

do ya think ellen know about TEDS new season not airing in the uk on fivelife , im sure she does , its just tha when she used to say were the shows airs all the time she cant say here any more , maybe should email her (well the show) and see if she can do anything about it haha its just a thought ? lol


TEDS website still says the show is weekdays on Channel 5, 5 Life. Check out the tab "When Its On" and then click on "United Kingdom". Couldn't find any information for the Ellen Series.

I'm really sad about this, i actually watch abc1 quite a lot, and i LOVE that they show Ellen! I'm really sad it's not going to be on anymore! :(:(:(

And re: TEDS on fivelife, i find it so hypocritical of the channel, they treated the show so badly when season 4 was first shown, they completely messed it up and then they had the cheek to send Ellen a video saying how much they loved her, AND it got shown on TEDS!!! :mad::mad::mad: And then they didn't even pick up season 5!!!

They better keep showing season 4 over and over again if nothing else, otherwise the UK will have absolutely NO Ellen at all!! :eek:

Edit: I've just had a look and abc1 has already gone, from Sky anyway! :(

I can't believe we're not getting ANYTHING Ellen anymore :( except the repeats of last season's chat show, and knowing Five Life, we certainly can't depend on that being a long term thing :rolleyes: Gutted :(

I'd be interested to know why Five Life don't have the rights, but i guess we probably never will know :)

I contacted channel 5 to see when/if series five was airing. good news - i got this e-mail saying that they have brought the rights to season 5. we just have to check the schedules to see when it will air.

Omg, I KNOW! ABC1 has gone missing from ny TV too. I'm so annoyed, because in England there is no other channel to watch it on, is there? I guess I'll be sticking to youtube or TVlinks until I have enough money to buy the DVDs off Amazon.

I'm a newbie here by the way, my first post! I dont know much about Ellen herself, as I have only seen some stand-up comedy and the Tv show Ellen on ABC1. I have also seen bits of her talk show. But I think she is AMAZING, and I honestly think she is such an icon and inspiration. She's hilarious, too. ELLEN IS GOD!

i loved being able to watch ellen on abc1 not only that but it was an awesome channel!!! tho fivelife have started to behave with the editing lately and i noticed it is on for the full time scheduled and that we are seeing more of previous shows than what we go to see first time round!!!
