Well, as promised, I'm letting you all know how it went at the Ellen show.
My sister and I showed up at 11:30 to make sure we got good seats. (No need to do that, by the way) We stood outside under a tree that was dripping sap (one poor girl had to cut it out of her hair!) for almost two hours. Then they take you to an area in the back of the building that has hard benches and is covered with a tarp and you get to sit out there for 2 and 1/2 hours, but you do get to watch recent Ellen tapings which, if you are an Ellen fan like me, you've already seen. Those benches are very uncomfortable, believe me. Then, at 3:30 they bring you into the studio FINALLY. My sister and I had great seats right in the row where she dances by! That was exciting. We were on the day that James Blunt was there. Anyway, while you are out there waiting in the heat they give you these questionairres to fill out. This one was about if you had a tatoo. I got a little whale tatoo when I turned 50. Ellen is turning 50 this season so they thought it was interesting and asked me to come back the next day. I was hesitant because of all the waiting but the chance to meet Ellen?? Oh yeah! And we didn't have to be there until 3:00 the next day so we didn't have to sit and wait forever which was better. So we showed up the second day when Kat Von D was on waiting for my turn to talk to Ellen. We had great seats right on the isle! Well, she talked to the girls right across from us and then looked at me (hope was in my eyes!) and walked past me and went and talked to this lady who had her eyebrows tatooed for makeup! Crap! Anyway, that lady didn't end up on the show anyway.
All in all, they were great shows. I got two Ellen T shirts (X-Large - too big) and two pair of Ellen underwear boxers as like concellation prizes for not getting to talk to Ellen. But I don't think it was worth it to do it again unless I was guaranteed to meet Ellen herself! Oh, by the way, the second day Portia was there!
She gave away her book and James Blunt CD the first day and The opera singer guy's CD the second day so all was not lost. . . except my sister and I. We got lost three times the first day trying to find Burbank! California freeways suck!:wallbash:
Thanks for all your well wishes.
