ok, so this is not a fun topic (when I come here I usually like to talk about fun stuff and light subjects 'cause it's a way of being away from all the rest... I guess you know what I mean...), but since today, October 10, is the world day against the death penalty I just thought I could open a thread about that...

there are a few movies about this subject like:

Dead Man Walking - directed by tim robins. With sean penn and susan sarandon.

The Life of David Gale - with kevin spacey kate winslet

I remember seeing others, but now I don't know the names

anyway, it was just to share this info

Why do some countries kill people, who killed people, to show that killing people is wrong?

What happened with these 15 soldiers ? How they were killed ?

Also when you are referring to ''leaders'' that cause problems in Turki (I suspect you refere to Turki from what you state as ''location'') you are referring to external leaders (like Armenian or kurdes?)or internal leaders (generals ) that I have the opinion that are the ones that cause in your country the more problems especially in level of foreign affairs)

I don't want to be political but because what you have written was not very clear to me and I would really be interested in hearing your opinion

And b the way in our country we don't have death penalty and I completely agree with that. However there is only one crime that I would accept this penalty in serious paidophiliac cases . Sorry but for me is the worse crime.

well first of all thanks for ur comment

they have killed by the terrorists(our soldiers were Sirnak which is in Turkey) terrorists always hide somewhere and use their new and strong weapons there because they always are fearful u may ask me this question how they can find them valuable these weapons
some country which are on the top of weapons industry hepls them to find
it seems to be  but thats real

anyway we have caught their leader his f***ing name is Abdullah Ocalan maybe u have heard his name if u have not i dont suggest i wanna explain my opinion like this way

''evrey winner general tries to kill againts group leader because if u can do it their soldier morale will be very poor after that u can do everythng to them''

i seem to u so emotional but all of them my opinion ıts nıce to talk wıth u:cool:

ps;its not a problem about the Kurds actually there is no problem i feel like that everyone which are living in Turkey must remember ''Mustapha Kemal Ataturk''

Ok maybe now I will become political but I don't want to offend you and I fully respect your pain for the loss of your copatriots but unfortunately in history sometimes when you win you actually loose and especialy in a war.

I know very well otcalan ( I am greek so as you may know I even know how he was caught...) and I don't agree with any kind of wars and loss of human lifse. BUT what you call a terorist he calls himself patriot. And what you call terorism they call it ''fight for their rights'' I see your point that these people are doing provocative actions but don't forget and correct me if I am wrong that the Kurds support that they suffered from slaughter from Turkish and this is something recognised ny the europeans courts. Also correct me if I am wrong but Turkish lets say political line is not very ''minority-friendly'' (kurdes armenians -lets not forget them as well, Cyprus)I don't want to generalise and probably you have strong arguments against that. I also know that in Turkie exist two dominat trends. One more european and one more fundamentalist. So i don't mean that every Turkish person is the same. You have a huge country and you (as we greeks) are in a very strange area so I am very relactant to start easy judgements But i feel because people from different countries read these that may not be aware of the situation someone should tell both sides of the story although i feel the truth is somewhere between. One thing is sure. When one starts killing the other people tend to forget why all this happened which I find it the greatest mistake. Because then we tend to repeat our mistakes

Closing just to mention that ''these'' people who ''shell'' guns to your terrorist are the same people who years and years now also ''shell '' war equipment to both of our countries and preserve the tention among the two countries in order to get money. And we are both so stupid to b uy them. Its a cyrcle so lets not hide behind our finger and demonise minorities.

first of all yesterday time was so late to sleep for me so i couldnt reply

everything was happend in Turkeys borders so there was no war
everybody ,who lives in Turkey, has a same justice(Armenian Kurds Greek...) i mean we go to same hospitals, schools, universities....etc.
i have an Armenian friend who has born here we are getting on well
we have been getting on well since 1923 to last years some countries has incited them to us to break TURKEY apart BUT they wont
i feel them like Turk we have set up Turkey after 1918 we will solve this problem too we are the child of Mustapha Kemal Ataturk and Ottoman Empire

this is the my last speech for this issue they will pay

Allah have a mercy on them RIP:(

My friend is never a problem of people. People if they let them alone they would get each other very well It is always a problem at political level. And we are sometimes stupid to get fanaticed and serve the interests of an ''elit'' that actually don't give a shit for people. As you have an american friend i have turckish friends americans english eetc etc and I never had a problem with them.

Thats why i believe so much in education so we learn from our mistakes. knowledge brings understanding and understanding is the only way to ...mercy.

You are right better end up the conversation here because we might end up extremely political. The english language does not help since its not our native language and also we are both behind screens so words become wicker. I mean is easy to misinterpret what someones says especially f you don't have him in front of you so you can understand his intentions.

So happy ramajani and I am really sorry for your soldiers but permit me to be also sorry for ALL the people that have lost their lives all these years in fights like that. A loss of a human life is a loss of human life it does not have nationality

I don't think we need a thread like this. Also I think such a thread has absolute nothing to do with Ellen & Co.

* CLOSED *

PS: I you think it was a mistake to close this thread... PM me (don't start a new thread!).
