We are have an election here in Australia tommorrow. A right wing sleazy government is expected to be FINALLY kicked out after 11 tortuous years. But it may be close. So I will keep you posted and pray for good things for Australia. And hope that this is the beginning of a change of mood that will follow in America when their elections come up.

 I too am so sick of the lies/bull shit of this imperialist pathetic liberal gov. The labour gov is following in the liberals footsteps. We need to fix the global warming problem asap! If there is no planet there will be no economy! Labour & liberal is not doing nearly enough, the Greens are trying, but unfortunatly, still some people want profit instead of environment. Sad, very sad. I'm voting Greens, crossing my fingers that there is still some hope!

100% RUDD I think it will be close if you vote for greens you vote for labor but greens will have the power to pass the changes that need to be made. labor & greens will out number howard, family first etc

I'm sure us kiwi's will be glad when tomorrow is over and done with as well, as we keep hearing about it also, not that we have to put up with the adverts, thank goodness!

We're hearing how Howard is going for a record breaking re-election and that Labour are polling ahead, so will be interesting to see what the reality is.

As for the Greens, do you have FPP in Aussie or MMP? If it's MMP then it seems unfortunate that the minor parties can have such an influence on the major parties, IMO.

If you got rid of your coal power generators then you would go a big way to reducing global warming, so we are told here in NZ.

Lets hope so. No where near enough to help our environment, but its a start.

Yes, thats what is needed. Lib & labour won't do this as the profits from these companies contribute to the "economy". They are only interested in making money. They don't CARE how!!!

I'm voting Labor, I want little Johnny gone. All the things the Liberals are saying they are going to do - how long have they had to do these things?

Whatever happens, we are going to have a Prime Minister who looks like Mr Sheen!:p

Congratulations Aussies on your new PM! Sounds like first thing on Rudd's agenda is to sign the Kyoto Protocol! That's great! Hopefully, when we get our new president we'll be signing too!!

I need to check out your issues in your government, but it sounds like ya'll got what you wanted and you voted, which is great to see.... Congrats! :) I can't WAIT for the election to get over with here... so much mudslinging its out of control... I think June will be the last primary and the convention in November... got a long ways to go but its really getting old. I just wish they would concentrate on the issues instead of doing the low blows on each other... was it that way in your area?

I think our new Govt is doing fine. Rudd is keeping his promises & he's SOOOOO much better to watch on TV than little Johnny.

@ Tysonshadow: your "Mr Sheen" joke was so funny!! He's just the re-worked younger version.

I get better vibes from Kev than Little Johnny. I think he is a more down to earth person. He has more personality. And I still believe that he cares more about the "battlers" than Johnny ever did. Johnny only wanted to make rich people richer.

I would not "jump the fence" for Kev though!!!:p:p

Personally I find Kevin rather attractive....I'd jump the fence for him. He's such a cute little munchkin and soooooooooo much better on the eyes than he who cannot be named.

It's been an entertaining 10 mins googling pics of our current munchin & the previous one. Here's a selection:

Kevin Rudd with someone we've possibly all seen before:

Goodness, a Leader with a munchin smile:

Our previous leader, John Howard (commonly called "little Johnny")with a friend:

P.S. Little Johnny is on the right.

To top off a good election win, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has a cool website:

If the election had been between these two, I would have voted for the one on the left!!!:D

You know, it could very well have been Brendan Nelson (Leader of the Liberal Party now) on the campaign trail.
