I was wondering if there are any other L Word fans on the forum. I have been eagerly waiting for today's ourchart.com week early episode of the premiere but for some reason it is only showing the first minute...Though the bit I see looks like it could be a movie trailer. Has anyone else checked this out?

I love the L Word!! Not being in America I can't watch the online episodes, but I can't wait for the new season to start this weekend! Yay!!

I have watched it since the beginning.

I am somewhat torn in that it is something of a soap opera and I tend to not be able to stand watching those types of shows, but I really want to see what happens with the characters. :astonished:

The soap opera tendency to seem to randomly make and break-up couples bothers me a lot. If they would just have one relatively stable couple I would be OK, but it does not look like that is going to happen. It bothers me a lot to get all invested in a couple only to have them break up.

I watched Melrose place for two seasons before it dawned on me it was a soap opera. I was watching it one week and realized that there were two people that were a couple that two weeks ago were very much together, the prior week he slept with someone else, and now they were together again as if nothing happened. That was the last episode I watched.

I'm an L Word fan. I've seen it since the beginning too. Watched Melrose Place too. Both are definitely soap opera-like. I can't wait for the new season of the L Word. Season 3 is still my favorite of all the past 4 seasons.

Season 4 was my fave but I still really miss Dana. Of course she was my favorite from the start...

I can't get the video to load,...it's just showing a tudors preview. Is it just me? Is it my browser? Could someone please try it for me? You can get to it from the main page of ourchart.com. Is it posted anywhere else?

hey just watched the first episode of season 5, it is awesome, i see its available on utube now, dont tell anyone tho lol. im not sure whats up with shane..if u get a job playing her love interest u might have a short acting career, whats up with her and relationships....season 4 ends with jenny floating away on a boat...nothing is mentioned about that however...its an awesome show, cant wait for the series to start.

I agree with you completely... the drama makes it hard to really like a character. They all go off the deep end sometimes. I wanted to like the show... but I just couldn't after they killed Dana... of course by then I was mad at Dana for dumping Alice.. even though I was mad at her before for not trying to patch things up with Laura before getting engaged to that random woman. Definitely a soap opera. I'd probably go back to it if they had at least one stable relationship represented. You know, just for diversity. :D

Dana (can't remember her real name) had a small part on the Showtime series Dexter. Only on one episode though.

I have a love/hate relationship with the L Word. I'm thrilled that there is a show about lesbians and relationships but, as a gay woman myself, they really stretch reality sometimes. Aside from the fact that the majority of the women on the show are all drop-dead gorgeous (I still pine for the lovely Marina) and that's just Hollywood's take on what they THINK we all want to see - certainly not what we all look like - I agree with James about the relationships. I was livid when they broke up Tina and Bette...I don't think that was necessary at all. I still like to believe they might get back together. I also hate Jenny and her damn character. I don't find her interesting or compelling, just sick and demented. I think having someone like her on the show just puts out the wrong message about us. What's next, a lesbian serial killer? I will watch as I have from the beginning, but I wish they'd get real.

I mostly agree with you socalisa. Absolutely there could be more representations of butch women on the L Word, and how actual gay women look, but I have to admit that I'm one of the lesbians who quite enjoy watching drop-dead gorgeous women making out with each other. And if you look at the women in Hollywood (LA) who actually are gay, that's what they look like. Portia, Francesca, Tammy Lynn Etheridge, Alex Hedison, Sarah Paulson, Jill Bennett, Leisha Hailey, Michelle Paradise, Kate Moennig, Jodie Foster, they're all very pretty, and rather femme, even the more butch-like ones, like Michelle Wolf, Jenny Shimizu, and Ellen, they're still gorgeous. No-one on TV, straight or gay, looks like actual people, because they're all actors, and they're paid to be beautiful. Doesn't make it right, but at least everyone else is misrepresented the same way.

Totally agree with you on Bette/Tina, though. ARGH! I was SO mad when they broke them up. And don't even get me started on killing Dana! I love Marlee Matlin a whole lot, though, so now I'm kinda rooting for Jodi/Bette, and I'd be totally pissed off if they broke them up to get Bette back with Tina... :rolleyes:

Rosie ....LOL she is about as butch as you will find in hollywood

Overall, I agree but i (only) watch for the plots....not the sexy hot women

I have to admit i was not as interested in the 3rd season but the story line with the GI sparked an interest again...I think they intended Shanes character to be like the butch one but it did not work out

I've been staunchly against Bette & Tina getting back together, because Tina annoyed me, and I really love Marlee Matlin... lately, though, Jodi has begun to annoy me quite a bit, and Tina's been quite awesome, so when I saw that clip every little shipper-bone in my body (to my complete surprise, actually) did a happy-dance! I had no idea I wanted Tina & Bette to get back together that badly!

Season 5 is great so far. Many Kate Scenes which is great. She`s hot.

I love this show but Jenny annoys the crap out of me. I wish she would just disappear. And this storyline with the 'assistant' makes me even madder.
I did enjoy the 'Charlie's Angels' skit at the start of last week's ep. Laughed out loud at that one. Magic.

She was kinda normal in the first season yeah but she gets more bizarre and out there with every passing season. I'm persisting with her storylines in the hope that some of her friends bring her down to earth with a crash. This luvvy thang she's got going really makes me wanna smack her :p
It's good to see Shane turning back into a shag monster too, I may add. Smashin' :D
