does anybody know how to divide integers?! like -45 divided by -5.
would the number ne a positive or a negative?

When you have to divide numbers with different signs you divide them like they had the same sign (for example 45:5 = 9 ) and then you descide about the sign

same sign (+ / + or -/- ) gives you always +

different sign (- / + or +/- ) gives you always -

The same hold when you multiply numbers with different signs. But not when you add numbers

Dividing Integers

To divide a pair of integers if both integers have the same sign, divide the absolute value of the first integer by the absolute value of the second integer.
To divide a pair of integers if both integers have different signs, divide the absolute value of the first integer by the absolute value of the second integer, and give this result a negative sign.
Examples:
In the division below, both numbers are positive, so we just divide as usual.
4 ÷ 2 = 2.
In the division below, both numbers are negative, so we divide the absolute value of the first by the absolute value of the second.
(-24) ÷ (-3) = |-24| ÷ |-3| = 24 ÷ 3 = 8.
In the division (-100) ÷ 25, both number have different signs, so we divide the absolute value of the first number by the absolute value of the second, which is |-100| ÷ |25| = 100 ÷ 25 = 4, and give this result a negative sign: -4, so (-100) ÷ 25 = -4. In the division 98 ÷ (-7), both number have different signs, so we divide the absolute value of the first number by the absolute value of the second, which is |98| ÷ |-7| = 98 ÷ 7 = 14, and give this result a negative sign: -14, so 98 ÷ (-7) = -14.

Well always remeber two (-) signs make a possitive. One (-) and one (+) makes a (-) and two positives is regular division.
and if you have 12 Crispy Creme donuts and 13 people to divide them with you share with your friends first and when one of them isn't looking you take their donut. :D

NOOOO that ain't right...

That is the only way to divide 12 by 13 evenly. :uglyconf:

LMAO!!! Kate, you are hilarious!!!

And I'm defending Carleex on the math stuff...I was and still am horrible in math! Hate it!!! Good luck honey! I'm glad you did well!!!

I dont get it :o how come (-) and (-) makes a positive but (+) and (+) dont make a negative and why (-) and (+) makes a negative? This means (-) is way stronger than (+) since it just crosses out the (+) :D. Who the heck come up with all these rules???? But i totally agree with with Crispy Creme theory - makes more sense :D:D

I can explain but do you really want to know or I'll spend half of the page that noone will read? hahaha

A simplified explanation would be that maths are...gay friendly theory! Homonimous (with the same sign) relationships end up to something possitive...heteronimous to something negative !!!hahahaha I am joking of course. Everything comes down to the fact that actually all the math calculations are summations at the end of the day.

I can explain it to you in the simplest terms!!! Math is stupid!!!
