Okay, one day over--two to go !!!!! Susan got in fine, took her to the ocean and she did not want to leave. lol. Got to Lisa's and she hooked up her wii. And Guiter Hero ruled the night! Man, that game is addictive!!:D Of course, Susan is blowing us away.:) I keep getting kicked out of the band :confused:. She also has bowling, boxing, and tennis on it and we played those too. What a workout, I was sore this morning:)
Off to breakfast this morn. then back to Lisa's for more G.H.:) then off to movies then out for my birthday dinner.:D

Hello to the FEDS Fans! I made it to California in one piece. Fist of all, Dawn showed up in a sweater and it was like 60 degrees out and here I am with a tee and jeans. the weather is absolutely gorgeous out. We went to the ocean and I was in total awe. TOTAL AWE! I think we sat there for about 45 minutes and finally Dawn dragged me away. I loved it. Then Lisa is feeling better :) YAY :) We are going out for breakfast with Dawn today and to a movie because it is raining (I must just bring bad weather with me and then back in Iowa it was 40 degrees which is very warm for us). My mother told me not to come back because it got warm when I left. Last night we played WII ang Guitar Hero. Lisa and her GF are pretty good but I wiped their sorry butt off the scoreboard LOL. (just kidding guys)... But when Dawn played, that has no rhythm, well, the band kept kicking her off the stage and she didn't make it through a song at all, but she was a good sport about it. It was hilarious watching her body movements she was so into it.

Anyway, since its raining today we arent going to the San Diego Zoo, we are going out for breakfast and to a movie and probably play more games. I'm excited tomorrow is TEDS but Hillary Clinton is on (UGH) LOL. Lisa is giving me a lot of crap about that. haha, I will accept and move on. Its okay just as long as I get too hang out with my friends and see Ellen.

I just got off of the phone with Susan. Susan is so excited!!!!! It is raining and 60 degrees, sounds good to me. 60 degrees in Febuary. WHOOT!!!

She said that they video taped Dawn playing the Wii and swearing, yesterday and will put it on youtube.

Just got off the phone with Lissa ( socalisa ) Susan ( AB ) and Dawn ( luvs2laugh). They had a great time. Lisa got to talk to Ellen when she was driving out of the lot. She talked to her for about 30 seconds. Susan took a pic of her in her car. Susan said Portia and Mama were both there and drove out in thier own cars. They also got to talk to Striker. I'll let Lissa fill you in on those. Dawn's Birthday is today. She had a great time. Petal...... they asked me if I noticed Dawn's ticket number. I told her your comment and my responce. They all laughed big time. What an awsome bunch of ladies ! They have a few pics to share with us later when they get back home. Now they are driving around looking for a place to eat. I know how that goes. You get so ampted up all day that you can't eat much and after the taping you are STARVING ! I can't remember everything they said. They were all syked and ampted up and having a great time.

Well, Lisa just dropped me off at home and her and Susan are on the way to Lisa's. They will be posting some pics and telling you about them. I just want to say what a great weekend I had. Going to TEDS was the icing on the cake. The present was when Ellen looked in our direction and I waved and she smiled and waved back. That was soooo cool. Of course Lisa gets a kiss. lol. We were on Mama's side the second from the top. Don't know if we got any camera time. Mama was there and Portia. It was great!! It was especially awesome that Lisa, Susan and Vanessa were there. There's some great people on this forum. Now it is Oldie51's time on the 28th.
I see they already posted my pic with my favorite number.:D

I stood on the corner and waited for her to drive off the lot and when she got close enough, she rolled down her windows and the conversation went something like this, "Ellen!!! We're from Team Ellen!" Ellen: "Thank you!" Lisa: "Stop, please listen...my name is Lisa Taggart and I helped raise $7000 for you!" Ellen: "I didn't know. I didn't know..." Susan: "I KNEW IT!" Lisa: "Ellen, talk to your producer *insert name here* and ask her about me. I'm Lisa Taggart, she knows who I am." Ellen: "I will, I will." Then Ellen drives off into the sunset and Lisa nearly faints!

Portia drove off the lot a couple of minutes after that in her white Range Rover and then we waited a little longer and Stryker came out. He didn't have his window down but we yelled at him and he put it down. We talked to him for about 30 secs. Susan asked him if he would marry her and I told him that I really liked his music. We all said that he was doing a great job. Then he smiled and pulled around the corner and I looked at him and told him that even though I'm gay, I'd go straight for him and he just smiled and said, "Thanks!" with a big ole grin on his face.

That's about it. Good times.

Oh, and that kiss I got from Ellen...well, it floated through the studio and landed right smack on my cheek. I blew the first one. She waved at Susan twice and also at Dawn and I. She made a lot of eye contact with us. It was nice. It was redeeming...

Most likely because Ellen's schedule there is a lot different from what Portia's needs to be.

Ellen may well come into the office well before the show.

They may have decided that rather than Portia sitting around while Ellen is in meetings or getting into wardrobe, that Portia instead wait and come in time for the taping to start.

It was great seeing Ellen, Portia and Mama today. Mama and Portia come in with Mary right before Ellen comes out. I had a direct view of Portia the whole time. She was eating something... then she left in her Range Rover which is white and didn't wave to us. Her windows are tinted but I saw her look at us but she didn't really wave... I think she just wanted to get the hell out of there... so much traffic. The best was hearing Lisa talk to Ellen about the birthday surprise and I think Ellen was very sincere when she said she didn't know about it and she will look into it. She was very sincere. So we'll see what happens. I want to give a shout out to Lisa and Dawn and Vanessa for making my day so wonderful... and today was Dawns birthday and her line number "69" on her birthday could be some kind of omen... hmmmm... :) Now I have to go home to the frozen tundra tomorrow... I am very sad! Very sad! I told Stryker I wanted to move to California so would her marry me after I asked him if he was single... I was serious but I think he looked at me and got scared ;)

I'm wiped and I have to be up at the crack of crack tomorrow!

I was truly worried about you and you not being around (posting at least) for so long after the last time you made the trip to her Birthday show. I was hoping that, inside, your heart wasn't let down. I'm sure Ellen wasn't fully aware of what exactly was raised in her honor. It's not Every day she sees such numbers from fans of hers and not to mention so many different countries involved. And the pay-it-foward good that came from it, those animals that will hopefully find less suffering now b/c of the wonderful people on this site that care and wanted to show their appreciation.
I'm so glad that you had a good time and were able to talk to Ellen DEGENERES! I know you've written that you don't get star struck, but just being able to talk to such a world wide Icon must have been amazing.

I don't know why they don;t tell ellen things like that .what the matter with them.her staff needs to understand that fans love her and they wounld do anything for her.

I imagine that there are a lot of things going on with fans sending messages, doing stuff in honor of Ellen and lots of other things.

She probably has people that deal with a lot of that and pass on to her what stands out or needs her attention, otherwise they probably handle it for her.
She likely doesn't have the time in the day to deal with all of the decisions that have to be made for her show, writing, rehearsing, doing the show, doing press for the show, and all of the other things she has to do.

I know it seems bad from our perspective that she may not have known much or at all about our donation to the spcaLA, but there could be lots of other people doing stuff that was equally important to them and to what Ellen believes in. She can just do and know so much and has to depend on the people that she pays to handle the details that she can't take care of. They may not always get the priorities the way we think that they should, but I think they probably deserve credit for doing what she wants them to do to the best of their ability.

It's me, MIA Socalisa checking in to give you the latest and greatest news from the TEDS taping. P-Nut was not joking when she posted that I talked to Ellen. I stood on the corner and waited for her to drive off the lot and when she got close enough, she rolled down her windows and the conversation went something like this, "Ellen!!! We're from Team Ellen!" Ellen: "Thank you!" Lisa: "Stop, please listen...my name is Lisa Taggart and I helped raise $7000 for you!" Ellen: "I didn't know. I didn't know..." Susan: "I KNEW IT!" Lisa: "Ellen, talk to your producer *insert name here* and ask her about me. I'm Lisa Taggart, she knows who I am." Ellen: "I will, I will." Then Ellen drives off into the sunset and Lisa nearly faints!

Portia drove off the lot a couple of minutes after that in her white Range Rover and then we waited a little longer and Stryker came out. He didn't have his window down but we yelled at him and he put it down. We talked to him for about 30 secs. Susan asked him if he would marry her and I told him that I really liked his music. We all said that he was doing a great job. Then he smiled and pulled around the corner and I looked at him and told him that even though I'm gay, I'd go straight for him and he just smiled and said, "Thanks!" with a big ole grin on his face.

That's about it. Good times.

Oh, and that kiss I got from Ellen...well, it floated through the studio and landed right smack on my cheek. I blew the first one. She waved at Susan twice and also at Dawn and I. She made a lot of eye contact with us. It was nice. It was redeeming...

When I got to San Diego, Dawn was wearing a sweater and saying it was cold and here I was sweating... it was funny watching the Californians freezing while I was enjoying the warm weather... they are a great bunch of friends, I can tell you that. I will never forget their hospitality and wonderful friendship. Lisas home is gorgeous. Thanks to Lisa for letting me stay with you, I love you girl!

Greetings from San Diego International Aiport. I'm on my way up to San Fran for a business trip and I wanted to respond to your post Danielle. I, too, feel completely disappointed about the fact that studio appears to have dropped the ball...or just not cared about it enough to do anything with it. Regardless, Ellen surely knows about it now...or knows SOMETHING. I neglected to tell her what the money was raised for and, had I been thinking, I would have shouted out the SPCALA or something about it being a gift for her birthday so she would know what it was for.

My only hope now is that Ellen did ask the producer that I told her had been in contact with what the money was for. I gave Ellen my name at least three times and she said she was going to ask about me. We will see. I think if she does learn about what we did from the producer, at minimum, Ellen will surely give us a shout out or something on the show.

I did send a follow-up email to the studio contact I had been talking with and I told her that I had talked to Ellen while she was driving off the lot and I told her what I said. I just wish the studio could see the importance of what we did and realize that it was not some small and insignificant contribution but a huge collaborative effort that took months to pull off.

Anyway, anyway, anyway...as my girl would say....I DID get to talk to Ellen and it DID make my day. At least she knows who I am now! LoL.

I am recording the show we went to and I don't even remember anything from that show LOL!!! Thats what happens when you go... all I remember is after the show when we and mainly Lisa talked to Ellen! And seeing Portia and Mama... I had a blast! It was so much fun to hang with Lisa, Dawn and Vanessa... especially playing WII and Guitar Hero III... GH is dangerous... potty mouth to the max! ;)

PS: Its supposed to be 50 today and I have all my windows open! Yeah baby! Hope all the snow goes away, not today, but soon! I heard a cardinal the other day, even though its a winter bird, it was a hope for Spring to come soon! Haven't seen the first robin yet, but when you do, thats a good sign!
