Gifts from TEDS..

..i was curious to know how gifts are dispersed out to the lucky audience members who win/recieve them..i can see them giving out cds/dvds and smaller items to people while they are there but what about the bigger items? for instance, what about the flat screen tvs on the day our forum members were in the Riff Raff room? do they give out gift certificates to get them or does everyone in the studio audience walk out with big tvs? what about the prizes you can win off of her WB ellentv website? are those just sent or do you get a gift certificate? i was just curious as i had to buy a new washer today and amused myself thinking 'wouldnt it have been great to win one Ellen had given away previously?!' ...but i wondered how i would get it home (would have to buy another seat on the plane for it!!) :) thanks for any info and congrats to anyone who has won any of her gifts!

They hand you the stuff when you leave like CDS and DVDS, but with the big stuff, they give you a piece of paper to get it. The TIVO boxes are always empty... I saw that on Monday when we were there.

yea i agree also who gets the big prizes and does the riff-raff room get gift certificates? I always wondered that myself.

On Ellens Birthday Show, we didnt get the freaking TV but the audience did, but we did get the Heart CD and DVD... handed to us. We were in the riff raff room.

Since we were in the riff raff room, they come around and give us a date that works for you for guaranteed seats. Is that what you mean?:uglyconf:

No TV, but you got to go to two shows and be in the audience for one.

Gifts would be gravy to me. :)

Of course it is easy for me to say since I'm not the one that was one room away from a bunch of people that won a nice TV. :uglyconf:

Of all the shows I went to, I only got the Heart CD and DVD and I gave them away. This past Mondays show we got ziltz!:astonished: (AGAIN)! It would be nice if they mentioned the riff raff room like they used to:(

It actually worries me a bit when they get into giving a lot of stuff away since it makes people start to expect that and it seems to me it would be better if they didn't give away a lot of big things so people would be happier just being there.

Perhaps I'm just being silly though. :uglyconf:

By the way, this is not aimed at anyone, just my thinking too much about gifts and television shows. :astonished:

well thats cool ,i just did not realize you know when you get a huge prize how you get that prize but thats great that they mailed it to you

...that was my point exactly, misskitty! and it is not a stupid question!!!:)

i have had the wonderful opportunity to be at Ellens show twice and could care less that i did not receive a gift- the gift of being in the same room/presence with her and enjoying her show is perfect with me!!:)
...but, i still always wondered how the gift thing worked...!

Just to be in the room with 199 other fans and crew members, producers, Audiance guy, and Ellen DEGENERES is all the gift I could handle.

Plus getting a bike would make me mad, ;) LOL

OMG! This is an old thread but I thought I`d throw my question out there. I went to a taping of TEDS three years ago. We were supposed to get bathrobes from W hotel. (It was October, Breast Cancer awareness month) When I tried to order mine from the website they gave us they told me another member from the same studio audience had used my code..I`ve tried contacting the show but no response.
Any other suggestion s? I still have the cards they gave me with the info. Do I just keep bugging them? :);)

GOOD LUCK! I was charged for 2 "O" Magazines and was only sent one. I wrote the Ellen Shop and they told me to email the show so I did about 10 times now. Then I emailed the account that took out the money from my PayPal account and Ive heard nothing. The only people that responded were from the Ellen Shop and I begged them to please print the email and give it to someone so I can get my credit and they said they couldnt do that. I am very very angry. I am still emailing.:sfresse:

I would suspect that the online Ellen shop isn't really connected to the physical shop at the studio.

They are probably not physically close to one another.

I understand that. I'm just saying that the online Ellen shop is unlikely to be run out of the store in the studio.

I would expect that they have an external service that handles that, not that I know of course.

I think you`re right, James. The online shop is seperate than the one in the studio. I had a great experience with the Ellen Shop. I ordered some things about a month ago and thought the customer service was great. They even asked me to be on a pannel to rate the product I bought. That was fun. ;):)
