Ellen and the Emmys

ABC's "All My Children" earned a leading 18 Daytime Emmy nominations today, while "The View" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" both had 11 in talk show categories.
DeGeneres' show won last year's award for best talk show - in its freshman season - and will be competing in that category this year against "The View," "Live With Regis & Kelly," "Dr. Phil" and "Soap Talk."

The new doesnt talk about all the categories , the only ones that mention are best talk show and best talk show host. :cool:

No idea, lulu. I think that sort of thing isnt released 'til a bit later on.

laura, i wouldnt have thought so, unfortunately.. we dont even get the Primetime Emmys (and we get a whole lot of the shows that are up for them) aired over here so i highly doubt we'd get the Daytime ones!!

These are just the Daytime Emmys, so Arrested Development wouldnt have even been considered for any of the awards (it would be considered a 'Primetime' show).
Ellen was at the awards last year, and id expect her to show up at this years too whatwith the show being up for so many awards!!! :mrgreen:

I think Ellen will sweep this year!! Also, I think that her and Portia will definitely go since they're not shy about reed carpet appearances. She took Alex last year. I can't wait. What categories did she win last year, I forget?

Not sure exactly, but *i think* pretty much the same ones that are up on that list there for this years nominations. She had one more nom last year (12) but only won 11.. the one they didnt win was 'Best Song'.. and i see they're not up for that one at all this year, so Id guess she's up for the same ones she won last time around!!

Actually, I've just remembered she won best talk show last year, but not talkshow host (she lost out to wayne brady of all people..), so there must be something esle slightly different in the nominations between the 2 years. Not much though lol.

I forgot about her losing to Wayne Brady, too. I can't believe she lost to someone whose show had already been canceled. She's got it in the bag this year...no doubt. She just keeps getting more and more popular. OK, I'm off to watch today's show. I have it on my TiVo!

i think teds got an emmy for "outstanding achievement in main title design" last year as well ... maybe thats the one which steps out of line this year ...

howsoever eleven nominations are great :D
