Home Design for You- My first job

WARNING: THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO SPECIFICALLY TO ELLEN. BUT she likes homes and design, and LIKE SHE, AND EVERYONE ELSE has the right to access anything AND everything regardless of age or ability.

As you know, I am in a wheelchair; and have designed my own house. Here's a picture

I ALSO have been in the process of starting up an 'Universal Design' consulting business--last two years. Universal Design has 6 principles, which I would love to discuss more in depth. to anyone (through a PM). I'm going to incorporate all six principles of Universal Design into helping people with living in their own homes as long and as independently, as possible.

NOW FOR THE NEWS.
Today (Sunday)
I was gone for 5 days (visiting my home town) and when I came home I had a message on my answering machine from a gentleman who wants me to help him design group houses.

THIS IS JUST THE "THING" I needed. I hope he likes what we discuss and this is JUST the beginning of my career.

Also, some more exciting news (for me anyway) as i was visiting my home town a couple who I consulted with (pro bono) is going to use SOME of my ideas. That couple is starting the remodel, tomorrow.

Universal Design is an exciting new and upcoming "trend" that NEEDS to stay. One of the reasons I like Universal Design is the fact that the design of products/services/education/environment--houses are usable FOR /TO everyone regardless of age or ability.

Hey Kate. l knew straight away the minute l first taked to you online, that you was special, l did not know how talented and special untill just now, you are going to make a difference in the world, and l just love that you are doing this!! l and all the rest of the forem (and Ellen, if she could vote) are so very proud of you, and we are backing you all the way, the sky has no limits. I agree Kate...you go girl. I reckon with a whisper in the right ears you could even get our incredible advertising guru ELLEN to do a wee plug for you on the show. Well she is into real estate and redesigning in a big way isnt she and she did an incredible job of advertising some water in a box did she not?? What do others think? Well its not as if you arent her biggest fan as well. What more incentive does she need?

We built our house 20 years ago a small design with the idea it would take us into retirement rather having to move to a retirement home.
So as were getting older were moving into the maintenance stage of the house ~easy gardens etc:
Do you have interior pics.
not being nosy just wondering what you incorporated or find works in long term housing plans.
