How to convert videos...

Hey everyone!

Okay, here's my problem this time! I have a video on my computer that is a VOB file. I don't have a program to convert it to a different file, and I don't want to download one because it probably won't work anyway because my computer has something wrong with it where it shuts itself down all the time usually when I'm downloading something or working on more than one thing at a time.

If I send someone the file can you convert it to a wmv. or flv. for me? I'm trying to convert it to my iTunes, but my Ipod converter will not convert VOB files. Thanks!!

I have a program called Super it converts just about anything lemme take a look and see if it will convert. How do you wanna send it to me

I was just looking at the super website and it specifically says it does that format.

It's an awesome program, it converts pretty much everything. Ive used it for a while now.

Does it work for Macs? I used to use Handbrake, but they updated their software and I don't have Leopard yet...

I dont know if it works for macs or not. youll have to take a look at the website.

It sounds like it is a windows based program.

Nicole, if that is a large file, it is unlikely to work if you E-mail it.

Super is an amazing program...and Nicole I think it's better if you just download super and do it yourself, it's really easy...
I m sure bgfilly would help you, and I have an idea of how to use it as well, so I can totally help you as well...plus u'll learn something new!!!

it is a really easy program to use. Just download it and then all you have to do is drag and drop the file into the program and select your output sorce. You can convert it directly into the ipod format

I'll try it myself. I tried sending you the file, but as James said, it didn't wotrk because it is so big! Thanks for the advice though...I'll let you know if I need anymore help with it!

yea i figured it wouldnt send to email caues it was too big, but it will send through yahoo messenger. Ive sent pretty big files through there before. So if you cant get it let me know and you are most welcome!

Okay, I have another program on my computer that has several tasks you can download and one of them is a converter that will convert any file to flv. which is one of the files my iPod converter will convert. When I click on the file and open it, it plays the whol clip which is about 3:35. But when I try to convert it or do anything with it, it only plays 45 seconds of it!!:mad: I even tried importing it into the movie maker that I have on my computer, but again, it only plays 45 seconds of it! I'm not very literate when it comes to this video stuff!!:(

Ok before you convert it can you play it at all as is and does it play all the way through? Because what might have happened is the file did not download fully which is why its only playing 45 secs of it when you convert it. You may need to redownload the file itself

I've already done that twice, and it's still only playing 45 sec. of it!! UGH!! I'm getting so frustrated!:mad: And now the program is telling me it doesn't support or convert DVD files anyway even though I have it saved to my hard drive already! I'm about to give up!! The file is a VOB file and all I want is to put it on my iPod.

I think...(atleast for me), no matter what link you post, it keeps taking me back to the homepage....so here it is

Click: "Start Downloading SUPER ©"...at the bottom of the page

Then: Click: "SUPER © is a FREE Multimedia software to download and use" ...near the top...just under the text box

Then go to the very end of the page, and finally click: "Download SUPER © setup file"


I think it should work, lemme know if it doesn't!
