Software for making banners, brochures

Hey everyone:

Can anyone recommend a good and user friendly software for making brochures, banners etc???

There are so many online and I am having a hard time determining which ones are good and which ones are just hyped. It would be of great help if anyone can give me suggestions and recommendations of the ones you have tried and or know to be good, rather than downloading and try then delete which is going to mess up the computer.

Hey I would suggest Microsoft Publisher if you can get your hands on it.

Its easy to use and does most things

Is it like to make Icons/ Banners / Wallpapers?

Coz if so, I use Photoshop CS 4, lots of tutorials to help you but it doesn't do gif.
