Apparently Blake Shelton upset some people with a turtle joke a few days ago, and he had to apologise.

@blakeshelton Does anyone know if the Eastern Box turtle is protected in Oklahoma? If so I didn't just swerve to the shoulder of the road to smash one

Now Ellen has commented:

Are knock knock jokes funny?

She's right, it was dark, wasnt in good taste. I'd have preferred if she'd gone after unfunny Daniel Tosh for his rape jokes though.

@blakeshelton Can you imagine what this world would be like if people spent this much time worrying about people. I assure you NO turtles heard my joke..

I don't agree with what Blake did, but if he chose to do it, that's his choice. However, he should have never tweeted about it, and if so, he should have tweeted how sorry he was that it happened and it should have been an accident and not done deliberately. His tweeting about how sorry he ISN'T is what I really don't agree with. He's a prick...sorry.

He does seem an idiot the way he was replying to people. But I got the impression he didn't really run over the turtle? I don't think Oklahoma even has that type of turtle. He'll have learned a lesson to think more before he tweets.

So it looks like Ellen will be back to work next week getting ready for the new season. Just checked the webcam and there are lights on, so it would appear they are getting the set ready.
