Hi Gang,
Just joined these forums. I'm working on the Mark Twain Prize that will honor the comedy of Ellen Degeneres and wonder if you superfans can help me research: What is your favorite Ellen video, comedy sketch, appearance, or scene from a movie? Thanks, Marion |

It's difficult to pick something because everything she does daily brings a smile on my face.
Her stand-up "The Beginning" and "Here & now", I love every second of it. Her first stand up appearance on Carson. Hosting Emmy for the first time and hosting Oscars, I remember especially the part when she asked Steven Spielberg to take a photo of her and Clint Eastwood. Her reactions in interviews with Letterman and Leno are hilarious. She even had some very funny reactions in her coming-out interview with Oprah, in a very difficult situation surrounded with lots of people who were unfriendly. I loved that in particular cuz it shows her amazing personality, that she reacts to negativity with positivity and grace, not hostility which is one of the things that makes her unique. When she said to one untolerant lady that Time magazine wanted to interview her. Or when she said she was afraid Oprah won't like her cuz she is gay. And Oprah asked whether she feels llike that in general and Ellen replied: No, just you. It's difficult to pick something because everything she does daily brings a smile on my face. I love when she burst out laughing and I love when she dances. |
