Ellen and Portia set wedding date | Ellen DeGeneres has set a date for her wedding to Portia de Rossi.
The couple - who have been together since December 2004 - revealed their intention to marry when same sex ceremonies were legalised in California last month.
Talk show host Ellen revealed she gave her lover a pink diamond engagement ring, adding: "We have set a wedding date." The 50-year-old star refused to reveal when it will take place, but did tell fans the ceremony will be broadcast on her show. Ellen says plans for "the dream wedding" to Portia, 35, are well underway. She added to People magazine: "Planning a wedding is very stressful. It is crazy. My gardener is now invited."
"I can't wait to be married. I feel like it is long overdue. And I think someday people will look back on this like women not having the right to vote and segregation and anything else that seems ridiculous like we all don't have the same rights."

A Message from Ellen (02 - 06 June / 2008) | Well, summer is officially here! Finally! Now I can vacuum in the nude!
What in the world am I gonna do this summer, you ask? Well, nice reader, I'm going to tend to my garden, I'm gonna start watching "Bridezilla" and I'm gonna get my exercise by dancing to "So You Think You Can Dance?"
But let's face it -- exercise is overrated. So why don't you pour yourself a nice cold glass of lemonade, get a big plate of strawberry shortcake and nestle into the sofa. Then I'll remind you of what a fun time we had on the show this week.

A Message from Ellen (May 26 - May 30 / 2008) | I'm bubble wrapping all my fragile stuff and getting ready for the move to the Warner Bros. lot... and by "fragile stuff" I mean my martini glasses.
This NBC studio is filled with great memories. And this week just added to the list.
• Janet Jackson was here and surprised the audience with "Rhythm Nation." We're all part of it.
• Simon Cowell came by and I told everybody how much I like him. You can tell by the way I keep my hand on his knee.
• We heard some amazing music from Alanis Morissette, Josh Groban and Gavin Rossdale. I love my job!
• And, I got to talk to Senator John McCain about our different points of view on gay marriage. America is an amazing place -- we can talk freely about controversial issues AND we have all you can eat salad bars!

A Message from Ellen (May 19 - May 23 / 2008) | Well, I don't think this week could've been any bigger. I finally had my 50th birthday party AND I made a big announcement! The only way this week could've been bigger is if I secured the nomination for president.
Justin Timberlake helped me celebrate on my birthday show. I'd been counting down the days until he got here. I'm the luckiest girl in all the land.

Gladys Hardy's CD - Including Ellen's call | The CD is a collection of Nana's famous funny commentaries and real phone calls including her hilarious call that sent Ellen DeGeneres into a sweet fit of uncontrolled laughter!
Gladys Hardy is hilarious, opinionated and unpredictable, but never mean-spirited. She also claims to be 88 and holding , born in Knoxville and married to Floyd. When the woman who said she was an Austin, TX, grandmother called in to the Ellen show early in 2007 during a viewer phone segment, her downhome humor made her an instant sensation. Subsequent phone calls have launched her as a homespun national favorite. Now Gladys Hardy, aka Nana, gives America a piece of her mind with commentaries on modern life and current events with her debut album, I Love Jesus But I Drink A Little.
