A Message from Ellen (October 29 - November 02 / 2007) | Welcome to my favorite time of the year! (If you don't count Christmas, Ground Hog's and Arbor Day.) It's Holla-Ween everybody! Last week, I got into the mood early with guests like REESE WITHERSPOON. She's got so much charm and good manners and talent, it's SCARRRRRRY! STEVE CARELL terrified me with his hilariousness. How can someone be so funny? SPOOOOOKY! Then, there were the JONAS BROTHERS. Oh, to be so young and talented, it's FREAKY! Did you see how I was able to find out if HALLE BERRY's baby was going to be a boy or a girl? SPINE TINGLING!

A Message from Ellen (October 22 - 26 / 2007) | I'm taking it easy this weekend. It's been a pretty rough week. For those of you who've been out of the country or fell asleep with your iPods on, I've been having some dog problems. I'm still hoping for a positive outcome. In the meantime, I want to thank you all for your support and encouraging e-mails. Tuesday we'll be devoting part of our show to promoting pet adoption. In spite of everything that happened last week, I can't stress enough how important it is to adopt a pet. For now, I'm going to curl up to Wolf, Charley, George and The Chairman and get busy relaxing.

A Message from Ellen (October 15 - 19 / 2007) | So, how did you like game week? I think it went so well, we were all winners. As you know, I love playing games. As a matter of fact, I'm playing Chutes And Ladders as we speak. ...darn it, I just slid back down! ...Where were we? Oh, game week.

A Message from Ellen (October 8 - 12 / 2007) | I can't believe how generous everyone's been in helping me kick off my "Ellen For The Cure" campaign. We got some big contributions from New Balance, General Mills and Nonni's Biscotti, as well as all of your individual donations. We're well on our way to reaching our goal of raising one million dollars. But we still have a long way to go. Don't forget, you can show your support by buying pink underwear at the Ellen shop. In the mean time, as Queen Latifah showed us, breast self-examination is a must.

Ellen DeGeneres Helped Mom with Cancer Fight | Ellen DeGeneres wants to help keep breast cancer out of the closet.
Recalling what it was like in the 1970s, when her mother, Betty, was undergoing treatment for the disease, the talk show host, 49, tells USA Today, "Everything was a dirty little secret back then."
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, DeGeneres adds, "The fact that she had a mastectomy was not spoken of. She tried to shield me from it a little bit, but she needed my help with recovery and physical rehabilitation. It bonded us even more."
