 Oscar 2007 - Ellen to be host |  Ellen DeGeneres has been set to host the 79th Academy Awards telecast, producer Laura Ziskin announced. It will be DeGeneres' first time as Oscar® host, as well as her first appearance on an Academy Awards telecast.

| Daytime Emmy Awards Report: Ellen Wins Again, Rosie Joins The View | Out comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres won two Daytime Emmys at the 33rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, held (for the first time ever) in Hollywood at the Kodak Theatre on April 28th.
DeGeneres was considered to be a frontrunner in the Daytime Emmy race as soon as the nominations were announced. The producer of CBS talk show (and Daytime Emmy competitor) The View joked that the show had relocated from New York to Los Angeles so it would be easier for DeGeneres to pick up her award.
