Gladys Hardy's CD - Including Ellen's call | The CD is a collection of Nana's famous funny commentaries and real phone calls including her hilarious call that sent Ellen DeGeneres into a sweet fit of uncontrolled laughter!
Gladys Hardy is hilarious, opinionated and unpredictable, but never mean-spirited. She also claims to be 88 and holding , born in Knoxville and married to Floyd. When the woman who said she was an Austin, TX, grandmother called in to the Ellen show early in 2007 during a viewer phone segment, her downhome humor made her an instant sensation. Subsequent phone calls have launched her as a homespun national favorite. Now Gladys Hardy, aka Nana, gives America a piece of her mind with commentaries on modern life and current events with her debut album, I Love Jesus But I Drink A Little.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to marry | Australian actress Portia de Rossi is to wed her long-time lesbian love Ellen DeGeneres following a California Supreme Court ruling to dump the state's ban on gay marriages.
An audience member at the Ellen DeGeneres Show told TMZ.com that DeGeneres made the announcement today as the show was being taped with de Rossi watching from the sidelines. Fans erupted into applause, giving the pair a standing ovation. It came after California's Supreme Court effectively left same-sex couples in America's most populous state free to tie the knot.
In an opinion that analysts say could have nationwide implications for the issue, the seven-member panel voted 4-3 in favour of plaintiffs who argued that restricting marriage to men and women was discriminatory.
"Limiting the designation of marriage to a union 'between a man and a woman' is unconstitutional and must be stricken from the statute," California Chief Justice Ron George said in the written opinion.

A Message from Ellen (May 12 - May 16 / 2008) | I'm blowing up balloons for my birthday show next week. I know what you're saying, "Ellen, isn't your birthday in January?" And to that I would say, "Yes, and thank you for paying attention." I'm just now having my 50th birthday party because I wanted to give everybody the gift of... patience. You're welcome.
I'm looking forward to next week, but this past week was a doozy. That was a big balloon -- head rush --
• I drank vodka with Sean Combs aka P. Diddy aka Diddy aka Dapper (that's what I call him).
• I went all the way to Chicago and did a great big show in the rainy, chilly, windy city. Robin Williams was there. I don't think the cold bothers him... he moves around a lot.
• One of my favorite singers, Alicia Keys, came by and sang for us.
• And, interestingly enough, Ashton Kutcher was here and sang for us too.
• We finished the week with an audience full of first-time expectant mothers! Nobody went into labor, but I thought one of them might when they saw all the gifts we were giving away... I'm glad I didn't have to blow up balloons for that show... I just remembered something -- I hate balloons.

A Message from Ellen (May 05 - May 09 / 2008) | I'm on the plane to Chicago writing this note to you. I've had six tiny bags of peanuts... it probably equals one normal size bag, so I don't feel guilty. I am thirsty though. Just ordered another drink... I'll give you a hint: it's on the rocks and it might have an olive.
I'm unwinding from a great week! Helen Hunt came by and talked about her new movie and her love affair with Matthew Broderick (they were young). Patrick Dempsey showed us that you don't need two wheels to get somewhere. It's a shame he's not better looking. Terrence Howard sat in my chair with me. It's much easier to talk that way... sort of.
