A Message from Ellen (April 28 - May 02 / 2008) | Well, it's been two days since DAVID BECKHAM'S been on the show. We counted down to his arrival -- it's only right we count away from it. I loved having him on the show. It was a real kick... get it? Kick... soccer kick. And after a lot of pleading, I finally got his shirt off. Never give up! Am I right, ladies?
I also scared the wits out of some viewers when I cut off Neil Patrick Harris' head with a guillotine. He's fine. I would never cut off a guest's head, especially when they're so funny and talented.
Also, I've been on my best behavior since DR. WAYNE DYER was on the show. He challenged the whole audience to keep a log of all the kind things we do. It's a great idea and I can't wait until the entire audience comes back with their stories. I guess I could add to my list: "Didn't cut Neil Patrick Harris' head off." That's a kind thing, right?

Ellen urges famous friends to donate birthday gift cash | Comedienne-turned-TV talk show queen ellen DeGeneres has asked her famous friends to donate cash to Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation instead of buying her 50th birthday gifts. DeGeneres turned 50 in January (08), but she'll officially celebrate her landmark birthday on 10 May (08) with a TV special. And guests like Steve Carell, Mike Myers, Fergie, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Lee Curtis are being asked to give donations to Pitt's New Orleans, Louisiana rebuilding project.
The bash at the studio where DeGeneres tapes her talk show follows an intimate party the comedienne's partner Portia de Rossi threw at their home.

A Message from Ellen (April 21 - April 25 / 2008) | Hi everybody… I’m just sending this quick note from the soccer field. I’m “training” to get ready for DAVID BECKHAM!!! He’s gonna be on the show on Thursday and I’ve got to be ready. lkdsnf q;rjfnq’lkaskvl – oops! Someone just kicked the ball at my computer! I’m sure it was an accident.
You’ve got to pay attention to your surroundings. I learned that when Kristin Williams stopped by this week. She came out on the catwalk at a fashion show and fell through the floor. Good thing there were men there to help her up!
Also, I’m a little sore from my new dance move. I learned it watching “The Bachelor.” I think the “Walk Off” will be hitting the clubs this week.

A Message from Ellen (April 14 - April 17 / 2008) | I’ve been having a lot of fun lately. I always try to have fun. Senator Hillary Clinton seemed to have fun when she visited Monday. I’ve always found Hillary to be lots of fun (bowling). On a more serious note, I was so glad to hear that as President, she would do everything in her power to get a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime. My interview with Thomas Haden Church, as always, was a lot of fun. He’s really an interesting person. No wonder people love him so much in the movies.
I was glad Jimmy Kimmel stopped by. We don’t get to see much of each other since we both are working all the time. Sure, we say hi at the weekly “Hollywood Talk Show Host Meeting,” but it was nice having a real conversation. I always love hearing about his family. It was great finally having Jackie Chan on our show. He proves that humor is one of the most powerful martial arts of all. It was a good week for music too. Daughtry and The African Children’s Choir were incredible! And speaking of kids, wasn’t 6-year-old Jalen Testerman amazing? I can’t wait to get to Chicago. I loved giving away tickets for my show in the Windy City to contestants in my favorite new game, "Deep Dish Dig." Remember, you can win tickets to see me in Chicago too! Just enter to win.
