News about Ellen's talkshow...This week on Ellen...

Monday, January 25
VALERIE BERTINELLI

Happy Australia Day! Ellen is reaching out to the countries of the world, and in honor of Australia Day, she’s got a special Australian version of Blindfolded Musical Chairs -- with The Thunder from Down Under! These men certainly have their talents, but so does Ellen’s audience. She’s never been more proud than when she shows off her Hidden Audience Talents. (At least we think that’s pride.) Then, VALERIE BERTINELLI has been a Hollywood star for years, but like everyone else, she struggled with her weight. Now she’s discovered great ways to stay in shape, and will share them with you! Also, he’s Ellen’s next-door neighbor on the WB lot -- ZACHARY LEVI will stop by to tell Ellen about the new season of his hit show, “Chuck,” in which he plays an average guy turned super spy. Just like Ellen.

ELLEN’S BIRTHDAY SHOW, HARRY CONNICK JR.
It’s a huge day today! It’s Ellen’s Birthday Bash and her favorite people are here to celebrate! It’s going to be a day full of surprises -- for Ellen, for her audience, and for you! Starting the party will be one of her favorite “Idol” alums, the one and only ADAM LAMBERT. Ellen loves him, and he’ll give a special birthday performance for her. Then, Ellen’s good friend, the very funny HARRY CONNICK JR. will keep the fun going with some laughs and a game (hopefully he’ll do better than last time he was here). Also, here to celebrate is the hilarious WILL ARNETT. His wife, Amy Poehler, was here last year for Ellen’s birthday and brought a 250-foot roll of bubble wrap! Who knows what Will’s bringing today?! And to keep everyone dancing, five dancers from “This Is It” will be here, and they’re bringing a special birthday present! We’ve got even more birthday surprises planned, but you’ll have to watch to find out!

Wednesday, January 27
LADY ANTEBELLUM

Two years ago, Ellen invited a small, little-known country music band to make their TV debut on the show. The name of the group was LADY ANTEBELLUM, and since appearing here they’ve become superstars! They’re back today and ready to give Ellen an exclusive performance of their hit, “Need You Now,” from their upcoming CD. They’ll also have all the latest details on what they’ve been up to, and their two Grammy nominations! Then, it’s hard to imagine a time when JENNA ELFMAN wasn’t on TV. After her hilarious run on “Dharma & Greg” and guest appearances on the best shows, she’s back with her latest comedy, “Accidentally on Purpose.” She’s pregnant with her second child, so Ellen will make sure she’s comfortable. Also, this season of “The Bachelor” is full of drama, and Ellen loves it! She’s spoken to Jake the Bachelor and some of the contestants, but to get an unbiased opinion, you have to ask the host CHRIS HARRISON. That’s exactly what Ellen plans to do! He’s here today and will spill all the drama.

Thursday, January 28
MARIO LOPEZ

Get ready, ladies! MARIO LOPEZ is here today! That’s right, the gorgeous guy will be visiting Ellen today before he hosts “Miss America” on Saturday. Last time he was here, she finally got him to take off his shirt. Think she can do it again? She does. Then, the Winter Olympics are right around the corner, and silver medalist figure skater Sasha Cohen is stopping by. She’s trying to make it to this year’s Olympics, and will tell Ellen all about the exciting event. Also, CORINNE BAILEY RAE’S first album won the Grammy for Album of the Year, so her second one is bound to be great! Today she’ll perform “I’d Do It Again.”

Friday, January 29
JOSH DUHAMEL

JOSH DUHAMEL was once named Male Model of the Year, and even showed off his skills for Ellen! He'll be here today to tell her all about his latest movie, “When in Rome.” Perhaps he can give some advice to Ellen on how she can win over Italy in her Quest for World Domination! Then, MATTHEW BOMER arrives from the hit show “White Collar,” where he stars as a con man. Ellen will make sure to watch the silverware. Also, don’t miss the hilarious new Grammy-themed version of “Sumove It, Move It” -- the stakes are going to be higher than ever when someone competes for a huge Grammy prize! And Ellen has more hilarious web videos that will keep you laughing all weekend long.

'THE BACHELOR' JAKE PAVELKA

Put your feet up and enjoy your day off from work -- Ellen has a great show in store for you! Another season of "The Bachelor" has just gotten underway -- and the scandals have already begun. This season's bachelor, JAKE PAVELKA, will tell Ellen all about it. Then, country superstar KEITH URBAN is here to chat with Ellen about his four Grammy nominations. He's bringing his guitar... maybe Ellen can convince him to sing for everyone! Speaking of performing, the new hip-hop and electronica sensation LMFAO will be here to sing their latest hit, "La La La." Also, in October, Ellen saw a YouTube video of 10-year-old singing twins DARIUS & DEMETRICE GILLESPIE and brought them to the show. They were amazing and adorable, and they're back today! They'll tell Ellen everything that's happened since they were on (they're getting more attention from the girls!), and they'll have a brand new performance that you've got to see!

Tuesday, January 19
MATT MORRIS & JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE
DOUGLAS MURPHY is the true definition of a hero. He's an average guy who just happened to be waiting for a subway train when an elderly woman was accidentally pushed off the platform. He risked his life to save her -- just seconds before a train arrived -- and now he's here to tell Ellen all about it! If you've been following Ellen's tweets, you know that she loves the new musician MATT MORRIS. He was discovered by JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE; was the first musician signed to Justin's label -- and is now here to perform for Ellen! And who better to introduce Matt than the guy who found him? Justin Timberlake himself will be here! Then, JEFF BRIDGES has been nominated for four Academy Awards, and starred in an incredible variety of movies. Now he gets to add "talk show guest" to the list when he sits down with Ellen to talk about his latest project. Then, if you were a successful fashion designer who was dressing the stars, what would you want to do next? TOM FORD decided to direct movies! It was the right decision -- his debut film, "A Single Man," is getting Oscar buzz!

Wednesday, January 20
DENNIS QUAID

There's really only one way to say it -- DENNIS QUAID is here! Actually, he says it better. Ellen's favorite hidden-camera prankster returns today -- and who knows what he'll get himself involved with this time?! First he'll give Ellen all the details on his new movie, "Legion." Then, "The Bachelor" has just gotten started, and no one can stop talking about the contestant MICHELLE. She'll be doing some talking of her own today when she sits down with Ellen and gives her all the behind-the-scenes details!

Thursday, January 21
COLIN FIRTH

It's awards season in the film industry, and COLIN FIRTH is going to be busy! He's in the movie “A Single Man” -- and has been nominated for just about every Best Actor award there is! He's here to chat with Ellen. Then, DR. DREW is one of the most supportive people you can find; when people are at their lowest, he stands by them and helps them through the tough times. His show, ”Celebrity Rehab,“ is now in its third season -- and he's got all the details. Also, ORIANTHI is proving herself to be quite a musician. She was handpicked by Michael Jackson to perform on his tour, and appears in the film “This Is It.” Now she's here to perform her hit song for Ellen, “According to You.”

Friday, January 22
SEAN HAYES

It’s been almost four years since SEAN HAYES was on the show, and he’s back today! The funnyman will update everyone on what he’s been doing since “Will & Grace.” Hopefully, it involved a lot of relaxation, because he’s going to Broadway to star in “Promises, Promises” with Kristin Chenoweth. Ellen starred in a musical with Kristin too -- it was called “Ellen: The Musical.” Today she’ll leave the music to a professional -- specifically INGRID MICHAELSON, who has performed with one of Ellen’s favorite musicians, Joshua Radin, and opened for Jason Mraz. Now she’s coming here to perform her hit song, “Maybe.”

  Ellen at American Idol
News about Ellen-DeGeneres herself...people.com reports: "While a new season of American Idol kicked off in Boston Tuesday night, Ellen DeGeneres has already started taping Hollywood week as a judge for talent search, which she called an “amazing time.” But she’s already dreading one aspect of her new job: telling contestants they won’t make the cut. “I don’t like that and I’m not that kind of person — because they have a name for a person who likes to hurt people’s feelings — it’s called ‘Simon,’” the talk show host said on an episode of her show set to air Wednesday.

Another small drawback for DeGeneres: not being able to tune in to the show anymore. “I couldn’t watch American Idol last night because I was busy working on American Idol last night,” she said.

DeGeneres also anticipates some changes in her nighttime routine as taping for the show continues. Usually I’m in bed by 9 p.m., seriously, or 9:15 p.m. if I’m feeling crazy, but last night we were there until today,” she says. “If they keep going like this, I’m going to have to put my pajamas on.”

But a sleepy-eyed DeGeneres says the excitement about her new position — and knowing the winners before anybody else does — makes all the late nights worth it. “If you have a good bookie let me know,” she said." – Blane Bachelor

Monday, January 11
MARY J. BLIGE

Ellen always loves it when the incredible MARY J. BLIGE performs -- one time, Mary even surprised Ellen for her birthday! Now the multiple Grammy-winning singer is back. Last year was a big year for her -- she even had the honor of performing at President Obama's inaugural celebration. It looks like 2010 will be a great year for her -- she's starting it off by coming to the show! MATTHEW BRODERICK is also starting the year off on the right foot! After three years, he's returning to chat with Ellen... and a lot has changed for him; his son is now 7 years old, and Matthew and his wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, now have 6-month-old twin girls! He'll tell Ellen all about the adorable kids and about his new movie, "Wonderful World." And, from "The Biggest Loser," trainer JILLIAN MICHAELS will be visiting and demonstrating a workout routine -- so don't break those resolutions just yet!

Tuesday, January 12
BETTE MIDLER

Ellen has her work cut out for her if she wants to achieve her goal for 2010: world domination. But if there's one person who can give her some advice, it's BETTE MIDLER. Bette may not have conquered the world, but she's come close! At the very least, she's conquered Las Vegas, where after two years she's ending her show later this month, but not without first stopping by to chat with Ellen! Then, one of Ellen's favorite shows this season is "Modern Family," and today the absolutely hilarious ERIC STONESTREET will be here to share all the behind-the-scenes details. Also, many people have considered going vegan but thought it would be too hard. Ellen has shown everyone just how easy it can be, and today CHEF TAL RONNEN will be here to teach one of his easy-to-make and delicious vegan recipes from his new cookbook, "The Conscious Cook." We know what you'll be making for dinner tonight!

Wednesday, January 13
JOSH HOLLOWAY
The end is near! The end of "Lost," that is. The final season of the hit show (and one of Ellen's all-time favorites) starts this February. JOSH HOLLOWAY visits today to share some details about the highly anticipated season. Then, in her quest for world domination in 2010, Ellen is going to need some help! She'll get some tips on England from MATTHEW GOODE. He's stopping by to talk about his latest movies, "A Single Man" and the upcoming "Leap Year." Then, this year, the country music group GLORIANA made quite a name for themselves with their hit song "Wild at Heart." They even won the American Music Award over Lady Gaga for Best New Artist! Now they're here to perform their next hit, "How Far Do You Wanna Go?”

Thursday, January 14
ELLEN POMPEO

It’s time to play a round of Ellen’s favorite game: Blindfolded Musical Chairs! Laugh as audience members stumble and bump around looking for chairs without being able to see. They’d better keep an eye on their watches though, that’s because the World Champion sleight-of-hand magician SHAWN FARQUHAR will be here to show Ellen his amazing tricks. Then, “Grey’s Anatomy” star ELLEN POMPEO will be here to tell Ellen all about the show, her marriage and her new baby girl. Also, from “The Big Bang Theory," JIM PARSONS will be here all the way from… the other side of the WB lot. He plays a genius on the show, so we’ll see how he stands up to Ellen’s IQ test!

Friday, January 15
MARK WAHLBERG

It’s an exciting time for MARK WAHLBERG -- and not just because he’ll be here on the show. His wife is about to give birth to a baby girl! They’ll be kept busy; this is now their fourth child. Mark is also in the new movie “The Lovely Bones” and will be stopping by to tell Ellen all about it. Then, as Ellen prepares her quest for world domination, she’ll want to get some tips from RICKY GERVAIS. He created “The Office” in the UK and it now has versions in America, Canada, Germany, France and Chile! This month he’s even in charge of the Globe -- the Golden Globe that is. He’s hosting the awards show in just a few days and will be here to chat with Ellen before the big event.
